30 Bananas a Day!

I've been keeping a worktrader at my place in the jungles of the big island, but I need to change that up and find someone who can help me with the kiddos at times.

This probably works out to about 3 to 4 hours a day a few days a week, along with some expectation to help out around the place generally. All together 20 hours in exchange for your own private room in our awesome off-grid home and full access to all of our amenities.

We're only about a mile straight line away from the ocean, in an off-grid, natural lifestyle subdivision. The 3-acre property is private and includes some bananas, lilikoi, avocados, mountain apple, citrus, coconuts, papaya, and other edibles.

My ideal person would be patient and empathetic, great with kids (obviously), into a fruit-based raw foods lifestyle (kids are vegan/raw, I'm plenty tolerant though we won't have any non-vegan foods here). Hopefully you'll become a part of the family and we'll all benefit from the experience.

If you're interested, message me and we can chat about things.

A hui hou,

Hey Rich :) I am moving to Hilo for college at UHH on August 12th.  I will be somewhat busy with school and would like to get the hang of things regarding schoolwork before i decide to get a job, but i love working with kids and i may be up for a job nannying once i settle down a bit, though i have a place to live already so i'd ask for some sort of payment whether money or fruit.  What part of the island do you live on?

I'm on the East side, in Puna. It's about 35-40 minutes to Hilo from here.

Ah, i don't think i could do that sort of a commute because my bike is my transportation.

Hi Rich,

I would love to connect with you about this! I sent a friend request. You can find me on Facebook too if you'd like: http://www.facebook.com/xenani. I'd really love to get to know you and talk about this amazing opportunity sometime. I'm at a wonderfully transitory stage in my life as far as career/location, etc goes, and Hawaii has been on replay in my mind for quite sometime. Almost eerily so. When I saw this on here my jaw dropped at the perfection of the opportunity in all ways for my life presently. All I know lately is that I love this lifestyle, I love nature, I love children, I genuinely love being home and taking care of the gardens and my humble abode, and living more and more modestly everyday. I have recently been feeling as though a live-in nanny/care-taker (or stay at home mom) would be such a wonderfully fulfilling job to me, but it has always been so vastly different from the direction my life was going prior to starting this transition in my life two years ago. I'm on the verge of a big change, an uprooting from here, I have known this for awhile, but there are still  a few obstacles I'd need to address first, as there always is of course when it comes to a big move. I'd just love to get to know you, your family, your home life, your location, etc, in a casual way, if that's possible. :)

Hi Rich :-)

I am very interested in being your children's part-time nanny.  I was recently considering relocating to Hawaii with my four-year-old son to live a more natural lifestyle, but I wasn't sure what sort of living arrangements, work opportunities, and such I could find that would be favorable to parenting him.  The part-time nanny position you are offering sounds ideal for that.  I am great with kids, and would be more than happy to help care for your children, home, and property.  My son and I are raw/vegan, and very much into the fruit-based lifestyle.  We would really enjoy getting to know your family, learning about Hawaii, and evolving deeper into the natural, fruity lifestyle.

Peace be with you,

Aloha all. Just wanted to let you know that while we've tried some stuff, we're still looking for the perfect nanny fit. If you think the situation could be right, I'd love to hear from you.

Hello there Mr. Rick.

My name is Young. I know for certain I could be the perfect nanny for your kids. For I have had plenty of experience with children of all ages since I left high-school I have work for a gym in which I have taking care of children in a center. I have had my CNA certified nursing assistant , adult/baby CPR license in the past and can always renew it if necessary. My plans are to relocate to Hawaii and help out not only  your kids but the community around us in anyway I can. I can envision eating, living, loving, laughing, learning well with everyone around me. I am a RawVegan so you probably see why everything about this request of yours excites me. Please message me back through my inbox for more secure info sharing. Thanks talk to you soon.

hi Rich,

I'm not on the big island but have always had a dream of living there.  I'm afraid of just leaving home and taking a chance all on my own without a plan. one deterrent is that if i decide hawaii didnt work out, its not like i can drive to cali to stay with my bro or drive back to the east coast.  I just landed a temp job that has a chance of something permanent.  It's not something I want to do persay def not longterm, but in a way I'm wanting to save money so I can become someone that helps people.  I'm thinking physical therapist. anything so that i'm not sitting in front of a computer all day

Still in Puna?

i will be heading back Puna side in two weeks from Kona side <3
i've been working on an organic coffee/macadamia nut farm and have been a part time babysitter for the three beautiful kids here (4, 7, 10)
i'd love to meet with you when i get back to Pahoa

aloha nui

Hi Rich! This looks like the perfect fit for me, if you're still looking :) I absolutely adore children and have a lifetime of experience growing up at my mother's own day nursery! I'm currently in Thailand training in yoga until the end of this month and had planned on staying in rural Hong Kong afterwards with my uncle and his wife as I find a place to settle. I've just embarked from living in England (London for two years at music school) so I'm fit and ready to travel! I've added you as a friend so please feel free to send me any questions. I'm full of passion and life - especially where family and children are concerned! I have been eating only fruits and greens for two years. Sending hugs to Hawaii! Meghann <3

Hi! I saw this ad because I was thinking of moving or travelling and looking for a place to move to. I believe I have already talked to you before! You are Sydney's father right? What ages are the other kids? I have been a nanny before, so this may work out. Send me a message, tell me more. I need a new situation and better lifestyle than what I have here.
