I'm having major problems with calf stiffness and cramps. I do running and road cycling. I'm running a marathon in 3 weeks and I doubt I can finish the event.
Online articles and forums list possible causes as a lack of hydration, sodium, iodine and magnesium. I might need all of them. Should I supplement iodine and magnesium? What about hydration and sodium? If I drink more water than now I feel like I lose sodium and can even start getting hyponatremia symptoms. Drinking water with salt doesn't sound right.. Please help.
I am also having leg cramps, I have taken iodine, b12 and lots of celery and water, it did not help, still having cramps. I blame it on over training and to little rest and sleep.
It is also possible that the saddle on my bike was too high. I adjusted it a bit.
I had a good 25 km run and another 20 km this week, they seemed to help a lot!
i get this really bad too if im not watching my hydration
