Hi, I'm traveling and didn't have room for my awesome running shoes in my suitcase. I ran 30 minutes last night, on a treadmill in a hotel, wearing low top converse all-stars.
My left knee is very swollen. It doesn't hurt, but it is stiff and you can visibly see the swelling.

Its okay, it was swollen for over a week and I'm still wearing a knee brace sleeve thingy. :\
try some hydrotherapy by alternating very hot and very cold water compresses, covered with a dry towel, ending with hot. Cold by itself actually retards healing, as it shunts life-giving blood away from the damaged tissues. But combines with hot, it serves to pulse blood in and out of the region, assisting healing.
Now once this heals, obviously you don't wish for a re-occurence. For that, I highly recommend an in-depth examination of www.chirunning.com to develop proper running form. Vids are also available on youtube. Has been a boon to an oft running-injured me :)
