Hi. My sister who is 7 months pregnant has gestational diabetes. Her dietician recommended her to eat no more than 15g of carbs a day ! I got upset when I learned this (my mom told me).
She was told to eat stuff like milk, chicken, nuts.....and have fruit but only separately throughout the day or something like that...anyway eating one banana would be more than 15g lol what the fruit !!
I know the science behind diabetes, Ive seen lectures from Dr.Barnard and all. I know fat is the issue... but why is the dietician telling her to eat this non-sense diet ?! I know the doctors and nutritionist/dietician are mislead and brainw... you know what I mean. I also learned that about 2/3 of women dont have gestation diabetes once the baby is born. My sister is not overweight btw.
Anyways what do you all think about this ?
Ok so basically you ate plant foods with a low GI ? Did you eat nuts or avocados ?
Ok but Myra's experience was that she couldnt handle any "high carb" foods because of her blood sugar would raise too much...Are you recommending that my sister eats high carb low fat like pasta / legumes etc. or what Myra was eating (low carb carb food,if you know what I mean).
And no out of all my sister she's probably the least open-minded and is very "mainstreamish" . She wouldnt even drink almond milk...she works for a dairy company -_-
thanks for insight
