30 Bananas a Day!

Ive seen it classified as a melon in some publications. This morning I drank a smoothie with papaya and cantaloupe and now my tummy HUUUUUURTS!
Either way I wont be drinking this combo anymore, even though it tasted pretty yummy.

What do you guys think?

I usually do eat melon mono. I used to blend papaya and banana together with no real side effects..
Do you think papaya is a melon el-bo?
or your fingers fall off : )
thanks, Im feeling better already.
I though that about cucumber before..but I certainly dont want to eat those mono, theyre too tasty with tomatos on salads: )
Hmm, interesting thanks. They certainly dont seem to be in the squash family do they? I could see cucumber being in there though.
ahhh i see...thank you little violet:).
Melons grow on vines, papaya grow on trees. Melons must not me combined with any other fruits or veg. Mono only for best results.
makes perfect sense, thank you : )
I hope you feel better Sara.

Botanically a berry, the papaya is a member of a very small family of fruits that includes the passion fruit.

Passion fruit grows on a vine.

Papaya trees are strange too. I think they're more like plants, like banana trees or palms than other trees.

Botanically, the coconut palm is not a tree since there is no bark, no branches, or secondary growth. A coconut palm is a woody perennial monocotyledon with the trunk being the stem.

Botanically, bananas are a berry and the plant they come from is an herb.

That's what I got from pro treepeople (climbers, cleaners, specialty tree botanists phd)

If I mix, I like papayas with other berries, melons with other melons. It's a hard call. I had heard papayas were melons too.
I haven't confirmed this, but someone knowledgeable on nutrition once told me that papaya is actually an herb. In any case, it definately is not a melon:

As others have mentioned above, try monoing the melons, and enjoy your papayas alone or with suitable combos. They're both fantastic fruits. I only like the small papayas such as from Hawaii (there in person preferably ;-) and the squishier, the better! Hope you feel better soon, Sara.
A papaya can be bigger than a watermelon.

Hey little violet according to this site http://www.hawaiipapaya.com/faq.htm papayas can weigh up to twenty pounds. In Korean markets over in the United States the Mexican papayas weigh about two pounds.
