30 Bananas a Day!

Is everybody's goal here to earn enough money to get a piece of land in a tropical place to grow their mini-fruit farm and then not have a job?

If not, why not?

Sure is one of my goals. And by "owning land" I mean borrow it from mother earth. Set up a nice permaculture system that tends to it self as much as possible. Work at fun and fulfilling jobs when I need money for travel or whatever. Just live and feel awesome 24/7.

These dreams are what motivates me to do what I gotta do to get it done ;)

It's definitely a fantasy of mine. I don't mind work (as in physical labor to benefit the planet, animal, and humans), but I don't like the idea of the hampster wheel in general. I think getting back to a natural diet brings back those primal instincts. : )
Mine's actually not. My spouse and I are both working on careers that allow us to help a lot of people and which we really enjoy, and his is ministry in a faith that doesn't exist yet in tropical places (and ain't into conversion or "missionary" type stuff - the point is the opposite, really). So I'm okay with being stuck here for now.

When everyone else here has their own fruit farm, I would love to spend all my vacations visiting you there! :)
Im going to school for massage and I love it, so I wont want to give up my job.
But land with lots fruit trees? YES.
I love my job and wouldn't want to quit. But then again, I just teach one class at a community college so I have a lot of spare time. I would like to live somewhere where I could grow my own food.

I love people and love cities. I love to work too, to be useful. I am bright green environmentalist and believe in technological innovations as well as social and economic improvements. I dont believe that we can turn back time. We are a part of nature and nature as a whole wants to grow, advance, develop, evolve imho. I believe in sustainable growth and green technologies, in living in harmony with nature. ALL IMHO.
The not have a job part is easy and I have reached that goal, now I need to reach the other goal ;)
Because already did it. Six years in California, and now work free, debt free, on a farm in Spain, planting trees for my kids to enjoy all their life if possible,
