Does anyone else experiences stomach pain after eating such fruits as grapes, watermelon or pears? I get this intense, cramp like pain in my stomach usually in the morning, just a few minutes after finishing breakfast. It ususally last for 10-15 minutes, then it's gone. I experienced the same pain, too when I wasn't on a raw vegan diet and I had watermelon for breakfast.
Yesterday the pain even striked during dinner (eating grapes). I have never had stomach problems, heart burn, stomach acid or anything similar.
I don't eat apples for this reason. But I have noticed stomach pain when eating pears, and bananas on rare occasions.
Watermelon brought about the same feeling this afternoon. :(
:) Yes, it really helps to eat whole bananas.
"don't try and stretch it out over an unusually long period of time either" - Ok, I don't do that. I just start to eat (bananas) 1 h before I have to leave the house and not only 15 Minutes before. ;)
This always happens to be when I eat more than a few bites of watermelon or grapes, though never with any other foods.
I've discovered that drinking a little kombucha (which isn't 811 I don't think)before prevents or greatly minimizes the pain, so I wonder if it could be stomach acid-related.
Yep, I get serious issues when I eat grapes. I tend to eat green grapes, but I have had the same problem with red. I can not afford organic fruit in this country, unfortunately; out of the question. I always try to eat the grapes on an empty stomach (NO combining). The pain is quite odd; intense, nausea, sometimes sweating, and whoever I am around tells me I look awful. It usually subsides after I've gone to the bathroom. I have occasionally had it after eating other foods too.
I am trying to make more and more of my meals mono because I am having frequent digestive issues (I even did a banana island, and while the issues subsided they were still present). Sometimes everything is fine but most times I still have digestive complaints, made more apparent by exercise. I am hoping these things will pass after enough time of simple, mono or well combined meals and enough water (I am sipping now instead of gulping).
I have been lfrv for about a month and a half, and gourmet raw before that for about another month and a half. I will try the greens suggestion (though I usually put greens in my morning smoothie...necessary to speed up the breakfast process... and sometimes even this upsets my stomach). I very much hope I don't have to supplement with chromium (sublingual b12 has already demanded my spare change)... though I wouldn't be surprised. The produce available in the Czech Republic has been grown in god-knows-what, and sprayed with I-don't-want-to-know for sure.
