30 Bananas a Day!

Hey,

I know we don't go for the beans and grains here, but I am looking for a good answer to this question with a good article or two to counter the paleo approach.

Thanks again for another great talk/demo last night.  I have some more questions for you.  Below are two links (same site) talking about how Legumes and Grain products affect your body in a negative way.  Both mention the acidity issue you had sited with animal protein.  I've read other similar articles as well...

I had never heard the negative affects with Legumes (especially Soy) so I was surprised (also wondering how true it is).  There seem to be a lot of conflicting data/interpretations out there regarding healthy eating so I like to try to get as much info as I can and make decisions for myself.  If I decided to cut out or limit Legumes (in addition to Dairy and Meat), would I be able to get enough protein via the other plant based foods remaining? 

 

What is your recommendation on daily protein intake?  I read in several running/triathlon articles that .4 to .6 grams of protein per bodyweight (so 170 lb. person needs 85 grams of protein a day) per day is about right.  What do you think?  Seems a high number to try to get that from plant/nut sources - maybe  not though.
