I just freeze em whole.
When it comes time to defrost, put them in a big bowl of water. The amount of time submerged can be varied whether you want them still mostly frozen for "ice cream" or completely defrosted.
Either way, they'll slip easily out of their skins, ready for action.
I tried peeling bananas that were frozen in the peel, it did not work out at all for me and I ended up tossing them. Now I peel and cut them up and store in portions I will use for smoothies or ice cream, much easier.
Personally I peel them, chop them up, then stick them in a freezeable container. Makes it easier to toss them straight into the blender when you're in the mood for them.
PEEL THEM FIRST!!!
I peel mine then freeze them.
if they're super spotty and brown inside, doesn't that mean they're fermenting?
The peel is brown. Do you really think I would be storing brown bananas?
i was asking a question unrelated to yours ;)
