I have no idea how everybody is getting by, there has to be people living this way that have the same problem as me.
1. Very very expensive to go all organic
2. not available, not an option.
These are the 2 reasons why I cannot go organic.
I already spend ridiculous amounts on my fruit because I buy from woolworths & coles. I know they are ripoff but they have such good quality that I cannot pass.
The reason I am posting is I am hoping I can get a response from a long-timer or somebody that is very educated in this area. I wanna know if the pesticides will get to me in the end, I wanna know if I can eat non organic greens and not pay for it dearly in the end
Soap and water remove 25-50% of the &^&% by washing and who knows how much stuff isn't really on organic produce any ways.
Herro I do not wanna eat soap with my fruit dude
Baking soda/vinegar rinse. Best to wash all produce--even if organic.
Hi hoop, thankyou for your input. I honestly have exhausted all options, I am at a point now where I cannot sustain this lifestyle if I do not eat conventional.
I was hoping to get reassured that although this is not optimal, It will certainly not leave you ill/sick in the end. I do not want to suffer from the effects when I am old. I have a lot of old people around me that are suffering from SAD and I promised myself I would never go out like that.
I am already suffering now because I am wasting so much time on shopping for all my fruit, there is noway in the world I have time to grown my own, or sprout.
Any chance organic is overrated????:P
If it eases your mind, some people argue it is: http://reason.com/blog/2007/09/14/organic-farming-is-a-load-of-h
Have you thought of buying with a few friends and ask the shops to deliver at your home? I saved quite many hours a week doing it this way.
Any chance organic is overrated????:P : yes in the US. Since July 2011 the usda has allowed more than 400 new toxins. These guys are f. nuts. Things are changing up and down often, we shouldn't trust too much these govt organizations like usda or such. Keep yourself informed somewhat of what they say they do and keep in mind that these ppl don't always say the truth. Some times they do things way worse than what they say they do. Petition all you can for your rights to buy healthy foods. But in the meantime why not picking your dandelions and mild lettuce and nettles or sorrel?
Grow your own! Lettuce plants grow great in pots as well as in the garden and you can plant them close together! Maybe try it? :)
Julia can you grow them for me?:P
I have a whole lettuce garden in my backyard! Come on over! (:
haha um woolworths and coles are the ^%^$ quality you can get :O there must be a markets or wholesalers you can buy fruit from? maybe try growing your own greens? they are easy to grow :)
i think conventional greens are better than no greens at all. farmers markets have cheap organic greens most of the time. just keep it simple. :)
