30 Bananas a Day!

I'll keep it simple and to the point.

I am 4'9 and weigh approximately 90-95 pounds, depending on water weight

I have a past of calorie restriction, I started working on increasing my calories about a month ago

I drink 1-3 liters of waters daily

I exercise 5 hours a week (advanced vinyasa yoga, horseback riding, cycling, hiking, pilates, dancing... it varies)

I am eating 2500-3000 calories daily, and for some strange reason, I am the hungriest I've ever been. I wake up at 1-2 AM almost every morning feeling famished.

After I finish eating a meal I am still hungry and feel as if I could eat another meal. My meals are 600-1000 calories each.

I don't understand, why am I so hungry??

Is it because I used to restrict all of the time?

Is this normal?

What should I do?

Everyone has their own experience.

Your body is very wise.  While it may have been acclimated to, even if not happy with, restriction before, it never stopped wanted ample cals.  Now that you're providing them, your bod may be making up for lost time.

By all means eat more!

Make your meals bigger, or add in another one.  Not the ideal thing to eat in the middle of the night, so make sure your eve meal starts off with more sweet carbs before adding in your veggies for the day, if that's how you usually operate.

Also, aim to hit the higher end of your water intake if possible.  1 whole liter is what you should down upon waking up, much less for the rest of the day.  You're pretty active too, so I'd shoot for at least a gallon.

oh mate - if your hungry -EAT EAT EAT high carb, low fat, raw vegan fruits, plants and vegetables - no ones looking around to dob you into the food police - so get into it and dont stop eating unless you want to come up to breath.

I am also a bit concerned because I know if I up my caloric intake even more I will gain a lot more weight than I already have (I am at a healthy weight now) and I'm afraid the eating disorder voice in my head might start yakking again and cause a possible relapse, which I absolutely do not want to do.

I've been high raw since June, and I wasn't eating anything high fat or high in gluten beforehand. Around this time last year I was eating 300-800 calories daily and overexercising. I then bumped it to 1000, and in June 1200, then 1600, and then I bumped it up tremendously.

I know I'm quite late on replying to this, but I hope you're still going strong on your road to health and recovery from your ED past. I just wanted to say though, that I think your big appetite is only appropriate, given your past.

I suffered from undiagnosed type 1 diabetes for several months the other year, and as a result, was hardly absorbing a thing I ate. It therefore created a situation where I was essentially starving. Of course, after I was in the hospital and begun taking insulin, I was suddenly able to absorb the nutrients again, which is parallel to an anorexic eating normally again. My appetite was ravenous. But it subsided to normal after a while.

Definitely eat more! If you've seen even one or two of Freelee's videos you'll see-no calorie restriction does not equal weight gain. As long as you're eating the right foods, it shouldn't be a problem.

You're probably so hungry because you're eating a good amount of calories in general, but you personally exercise enough that you're burning a lot of those calories. It's good, of course! Keep exercising! But it also means you may need to up your calorie intake.
