30 Bananas a Day!

Hi all! I'm a newbie and I am currently seriously considering going raw vegan, but I want to inquire about something that worries me about this lifestyle. I really hope I don't get banned simply for expressing my concern, because my concerns are valid. I was recently admitted to the hospital having seizures related to low sodium/hyponatraemia, caused by excessive water drinking. The doctor told me to limit my water intake  to no more than 101 ounces. Before this, I was drinking about 1.5 gallons a day (about 200 ounces). I am a vegetarian but not vegan yet. I am concerned by the fact that I can be banned for suggesting some people may need to limit their water intake, because there IS such a thing as drinking too much water. I am wondering if perhaps the people who experience excessive bloating may actually be consuming too much water and too little fruit/veggies. I am also wondering what the general opinion is on why there should be no limit on water, when I know first hand that you actually can die from drinking too much water. Any opinions and suggestions for how to approach raw vegan considering my history of hospitalization for excessive water drinking would be appreciated. Thank you!!

Can't imagine you'd be censored on here unless you advocated getting all your water from juicy fruit like Mango & Kveta. There have been a few threads in the past from people who feel best limiting their water intake. Everyone's different and you just have to experiment to find what works best for yourself. If you are predisposed to hyponatremia you could always include a little supplemental salt, or make sure to get plenty of celery, tomatoes, coconut water etc.

There is a limit on the recommended water intake but it's a practical one - if you are consistently peeing more than, say, 10 times a day or feeling bladder discomfort then you're either drinking too much or have an underlying health problem. 1.5 gallons is about 6 litres, my impression is that most people on here drink about half that. The exception is people doing lots of cardio or living in a hot climate. Personally I drink about 2L and add another 1L to my smoothie/s.

Thanks for the reply and the good advice!

I don't know any book that covers it so well in real world examples and evidence.

Will save you a lot of time listening to idiots that have no idea about how to get super lean, fit and sane at the same time.
