I have a problem: I'm a very anxious person by nature... I always have tons of thoughts and fears on my mind and it shows a lot on the outside: I always look nervous, i sometimes have acne, i scratch my head, bite my nails and sometimes I hold my breath without even noticing it!!
I'm afraid of death, afraid of being judged by people, afraid that someones get hurt in my family, afraid that my boyfriend leaves me, afraid of getting sick, afraid of not finding a job etc etc... Ok, now you will say "IT'S NORMAL, everyone on Earth has this problem" but I don't think that it reaches this level for everyone.
For me it has become very problematic since it stops me from doing a lot of things. I've tried a lot of things this past 5 years: changing my diet, meditating, seeing a psychologist etc... but I can't get rid of this f****** anxiety :(
Any advices/ idea? Do you have the same problem?
Thanks in advance!
Yeah do the things on the list I posted earlier. We can add another 100 thing to that list.
YOU have to take action to break out of your anxiety.
Here are some other things you need to do:
-Stop associating with people in your life that are negative, depressed, anxious, focus on improving yourself right now
-Take on a challenging new job that forces you out of your comfort zone
-Travel and interact with people from different cultures
-Learn about wilderness survival, go camping (great to build confidence)
-Volunteer at an elderly home
-Volunteer with pregnant women
-Babysit children, or volunteer at a children's camp
-WORK MANUAL LABOR (housecleaning, construction)
-Work at a restaurant, or retail, waiting on people, dealing with angry customers (learning to cope)
- Training for endurance sportss
I was more anxious and depressed than you will probably ever be, but now I am one of the most calm people you will meet. Most people who are depressed, anxious, waste chunks of their lives, because they are looking for a SINGLE ANSWER, and they do AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE, to change their lives. They end up not changing, and making excuses.
My philosophy was completely different. TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE, MAKE A LIST OF EVERYTHING, YOU CAN DO, AND DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO MAKE THE CHANGE, EVEN IF IT REQUIRES HUNDREDS OF ACTIONS AND TAKES MANY YEARS. I did hundreds and hundreds of little things, even though they were at the time, sometimes very uncomfortable. Now my life is transformed.
A lot of people who are anxious/depressed, say they want change, but they aren't willing to do what it takes. I was NOT one of those people.
i take prozaac to treat it, and exercise helps a lot
