30 Bananas a Day!

I live in iceland and i can get bananas in 3 different main prices...
Most expensive in the cheap stores is 2 bucks per kg

After that the price i mainly get them for is 1.6 dollars per kg

SOMETIMES when they have them in another store they put a red tape around them and sell them for 0.8 dollars a kg ! =) i always take all of them when they have them, but they havent had them since christmas.
They´ve been getting so many green ones that the over ripe ones (to them) arent avalible.

usually when i buy them i can get them to stay for up to a week longer even though they are ripe in the first place :D

I just got two boxes 40lbs or 18kg each yesterday of the middle price ones... 1.6 dollars... so i paid about 50-60 dollars for them.

How about you? :)

new zealand. per kg, $1.80 cheapest and $3.50 most expensive. basically twice as much as the rest of the world. in small towns, you can't even get bananas at all.

Far North Queensland, Australia : $2 per kilo/organic ducasse bananas :D

At a local discount food place by me organic are 89 cents a pound. I don't know how much they charge for a crate. But at Cub (grocery store) they non organic are 59-62 Cents a pound

Here in North Pole, Alaska, USA, Safeway carries conventional cavendish bananas for $.99USD per pound. Organic runs around $1.12-$1.22USD per pound. When the bananas actually become ripe (spotty) they combine them all, organic and conventional, in convenient little paper banana sacks and drop the price to $.79USD per pound for quick sales. The Fred Meyer stores in the next town over, Fairbanks, has better produce selection but will not sell ripe (spotty) bananas. They donate them to the Food Bank for the needy. They told me if I wanted them I had to go to the Food Bank and talk to the people there about them. It is nice of them to do that for the needy, but sad for my belly.

I can get reduced for 39 cents a pound or I can get the greener ones for about 70 cents a pound.

I'm from Yamba, NSW, Australia and I get a 13kg box of bananas for $25 from the local farmers market.
