30 Bananas a Day!

Just curious! If you could tell the fruit, length, cost, and any other details that you think are necessary, that would be awesome! :3 I'm thinking about doing BananaIsland this summer for one/two weeks to get into the raw vegan life style and would like to know what I should be expecting :)

when i did banana island it was about $85-$90 bucks a week cause i was eatin about 2 and a half cases a week (1 case was $35).

and i've done mono watermelon a few times but only with locally grown melons (the REALLY big ones that are over a foot long), which were like 4 or 5 dollars each. so i guess it was probably about 12 dollars a day or so.

I asked about mono-islands, not normal raw vegan happenings. But thanks anyways.

Island and mono mean the same thing so do they cancel each other out? Meow :3

Really? All this raw vegan researching must be short-cutting my brain :)

Mono(one) is usually used for mono meals meaning one kind of food for one meal and island is like multiple days of one type of food. If your concerned about money, sweet potatoes, rice or bananas will be cheapest usually. It really depends on what you can find for prices locally and seasonally also. personally I've never done a "island" diet, but about 90% of the time i eat mono meals. Like oranges for breakfast mangoes for lunch and bananas for dinner. maybe durian island for a day or two on accident lol. Stereo-island sounds cool, could be like dates and bananas or lemons and watermelons. :D

Conventionally grown bananas in MI are bout 19 cents each, so that's a little over 5 bucks a day for 30 bananas...

Where did you get so many dates!!??? I would love to try that!!

Thank you!!

OK I don't know where you are in the world, but here in the UK I've estimated this much....

I could do Banana Island for about £17.50 a week - 25 Bananas a day for me

Mango Island would cost £126.00 a week!! - about 12 large Mangoes a day

Date Island would be about £50 a week - 36 - 40 Dates a day

This is all when buying from the local supermarket and calculated on Mysupermarket.co.uk

Hope it helps :)

Yeah, there's a very large Asian market that always has good, fresh produce (unsure if organic, but I'll look into it!) for insanely cheap prices (compared to conventional grocery stores).
