What's your height and age? You can put in your information in Cron-o-meter to know your "exact" calorie need.
I'm 5'9" and 27 years old. I'll check it out Cron-o-meter.

Cron-o-meter says 1615 calories - that can't be right!

 

Cron-o-meter seems to be geared toward the calorie restriction community, so I don't think it's a good guideline for lfrv's.

I need waaaay more than that, and I'm only 5'1.

That sounds better.   I'm curious - how did you get that number?  Should everybody eat at least 3000 calories, or does that take into account gender, weight, activity level?

 

So 3250-3500 calories for how long before your period?  For the week before?

2638 calories on "Active" with your settings. It not exact, and even if you did calculate every part of you training you can't get an accurate number. You should aim to get 2638+ calories. Over 3000 and more would be great depending on your training.

Holy crap!  At the bottom of the page is says 'Did you get your 3000 calories today'.  I didn't even see that :-)

 

So is that 3000 for everyone, regardless of gender, weight, activity level?

I am 5'8 and 135ish pounds. I work out 1-2 hours a day and eat 3000-3500 a day. :) I just eat when I am satisfied and make sure I eat through out the day. This amount makes me feel great. I just base the amount of calories off of how I feel. Hope this helps.

Is it possible to eat 'too many' calories?  What happens if you eat too many calories on lfrv?

Sure... nice part about carbs.. from what I have read it takes about 30% of the energy consumed to store as fat (the process is expensive)....

 

It is NOT easy... however... unless you eat a lot of dense fruit.   Juicy fruit... really difficult.
