One to two hours is best after a full sized meal. Otherwise just exercise before the meal.
Thanks, Would u happen to know how long it takes for the typical starch meal to fully digest?
Well it should be out of your stomach within an hour or 2. But fully digesting something can take 12 hours to a day.
If you know you want to exercise after that meal just make it smaller...If i don't totaly stuff myself i can move directly after finish eating if the meal was just fruit.
thanks yea i want to develop a practice of doing some decent cardio everyday but with a busy schedule, right after my meals is the only time i can fit it in. Im thinking i may just condense my meals but have more of them so that after one or two i can go out and train with no discomfort.
Depends what exercise and what your goal for that session is.
I cover it in detail in both my books CTFU & DLBB.
Also depends what you eat and how long you intend to be out for.
With cycling I can eat a 3000 cal meal and then go hop on the bike and be able to push 250w for an hour no problems. If I want to push anything over 300w though then leaving at least 3 hours between my 1000cal banana smoothie at the start of the climb is going to be helpful as blood won't be caught up in digestion as much and get used in the cardio system more.
The power comes from blood. The fitter you get, the more blood you have and the faster your digestion and fat burning ability becomes.
That is why b12 shots can make people so lean as they may increase hemoglobin numbers. Takes 3kg of oxygen to burn 1kg of fat. The more oxygen and more carbs one can store the more fat they can burn on any given week or month as you can do more and boost your metabolism via that extra activity and increased oxygen blood levels.
Thanks for the response, my goal when going out is simply to get my lymph moving and to work up a light to medium sweat. Normally the circumstance is after a large starch meal and its typically jogging im doing with a bit of movement training which involves kicks and ground movements. Just something to get the blood moving and the lymph moving and at the same time helps me condition for my sport and walk my dog lolol. With a busy schedule, right after my meals is the only time i can fit cardio in usually. and my goal is to have a daily cardio practice for this purpose of moving the body and the lymph and again lets my dog get out of the house. whatcha think?
