30 Bananas a Day!

How long is recommended for mono island?
(whether is be bananas, papayas, mangos, oranges etc)

Is there any harm in eating a lot of one type of fruit on a consistent basis, for example 6-8 papayas a day, for a few months?  (I ask because I know with cooked food, you can develop food allergies to what you eat most often)

wow! That's awesome. I'd be interested to hear his take on it. Great question, kat... I was wondering as well... I spent waaay too much on groceries last week and it would be great to mono on something less expensive
Mono meals can and are ok for how ever long you want to do them. If your talking mono food for your whole diet, don't think that would be too healthy. There just isn't any one item can supply all your needed vitamins and minerals. I have been eating mono meals since starting this lifestyle 2 months ago and see no I'll effects. In fact I feel great!
Fruitbat Ann on this site has mono'ed oranges and melons separately for something like six months. Last fall she mono'ed blood oranges for 80 days. She probably has the most experience of anyone i know of.

I have heard/read Dr. Doug say eating just oranges or something would not be likely to do you any harm for 6 months but that's as far as you should go with that.  Along the same lines he says don't worry about forgoing greens for the first few months starting 811 if don't want them, he says you will eventually crave them and there is no concern nutritionally to go without them for that long.  So I would say if you really wanted to do banana island, 3 months seems to me like it wouldn't hurt at all.  It also takes me back to Dr. Doug's talk, 'Who's Concerned About Nutrition?' where he says  how funny it is that the people eating the healthiest are the most concerned as opposed to those eating mineral depleting, artery clogging, acidifying, etc, etc. "foods".  Lol!  So true, so true.  :)
