I've been insulating my banana boxes with blankets and towels, I think it helps. Other fruits I just leave out in my room.
chill bin is ok too, just don´t want to let it put on if I am not at home, its an old one.
The cooling bin has the disadvantage that things get wet in it.
I live in Vegas. It is in the 40s and sometimes low 50s. I put my unripe fruit on my balcony. I ripen some fruit inside and then take it back outside once ripe, this will give me a couple days in case I have too much ripe fruit in my apartment and don't eat them that day. I am brand new to 811 so I don't know what I will do once it starts getting hot again! Sucks I only have one shelf in the fridge, cause it is stuffed with junk food, for the rest of my family.
I guess I just have a little bit scared, because here on campus Schonmal a room is burned out, the fridge had set off the fire, the girl had not been there for months and had stil her things in the room.
I keep my fruits in my car, in the trunk, I keep two cases, oranges or bananas. And then I bring them in on the day I eat them. I live in NC. Haven't ran into any issues yet
