How Do We Best Promote Veganism?: A Psychologist’s Perspective

http://www.veganpublishers.com/how-do-we-best-promote-veganism-a-psychologists-perspective-casey-taft-ph-d/

I am proud to say this is a part of how I naturally have a take on such things; that and leading by example. This is a GREAT READ "by Vegan Publishers, Casey" and I can only hope that others will take heed and be the example for the one and only end result which is, TRUE VEGANISM!

For some, their path to becoming vegan may start out as a similar goal as many other lifestyle demographics, to seek-out new life and new civilisations.... wait a minute... wrong quote [cough-cough], in search of what is optimal nutrition for the benefits of the healthiest diet to support their lifestyle - I know it was for me but, essentially and what I found came wholeheartedly within the first couple of weeks was, to never again want to contribute to the justification and ill harm any living being! for food, material or otherwise - ever again!

For others their paths intention may be the opposite, starting off by wanting "to save the animals and/planet" and then having their end goal being what they consume (through a realisation or otherwise); a stereotypical vegetarian - but that is for another topic and would only be counterproductive to what we want to achieve in concept of this article. Either way whatever the start or end of their path to being vegan will ultimately determine the same end result.

I feel this article almost perfectly emphasises what and how we should be promoting the end of violence towards animals, the planet & people and, it by no means being acceptable - whilst supporting those along the way as their "sponsored companion" so that they can achieve what we vegans already have or are set on the path to achieving.

That's great! Thanks for sharing. It's always so hard to know how to shift people towards veganism. Much appreciated!

Thank you so much! I am glad if only at least one person benefits from the information! :)

Abuse-less Mondays, humane abuse lol. I can see it now. A cop shows up on a domestic dispute. Girlfriend says, "My boyfriend gave me a black eye." The boyfriend says, "Yeah, but I didn't punch her with all my might AND I gave her an ice pack afterwards. How is that not humane abuse?" Cop says, "Hmm. I suppose that's right. Plus, it's not abuse-less Monday, so my work here is done."

Gave me a giggle; great analogy and very funny. Exactly my friend! There is no justifiable rationality for anything less than Vegan in my opinion, apart from the initial transition of course (or scavenging for a broader reasoning) if it was needed - which isn't a typical requirement as a generalisation.  Vegetarians with moral justifications whilst trying to save the animals and planet... the only time I have and to say to them on this topic is exactly the above. Can still be friends of course - just with a difference of opinion.

... just to elaborate on the scavenging. It was intended as cruelty free, i.e. an already dead carcass. To expand further on my broader reasoning - any other justifications such as being born geographically where vegetation is scarce etc. would be another topic :)

Agreed. Ethically, I have no problem with people needing (not "needing") to eat animals for those reasons, but if I was starving, I'd sit outside a Walmart and beg someone to buy me cheap food like bananas or canned black beans. I'm to the point where it would just gross me out to eat a dead animal again - regardless of the circumstance.

I'm of the same opinion, brother, when it comes to the thought of eating a dead animal again - natural cause or not. Absolutely agree on that one. Let's just hope we don't end up in a geographical or apocalyptic situation where where we're temporarily screwed for that being a choice.ha. :-S
