30 Bananas a Day!


I start work at a factory on saturday and I need to pack a lunch to bring. I work 8-10 hours a day and I get two or three breaks. I was just wondering what you would recommend bringing for lunch?

How long would daterade last in a mason jar in the fridge? Banana smoothie?

Any help would be appreciated!

Datorade will last fine all day so that's a great option.

Banana smoothies don't last so well due to oxidation, but mango ones will keep if stored in the fridge, as will pineapple.

Grapes make a good transportable snack/meal, whole dates, dried figs, a pot of fruit salad, apples, and whole bananas...all good packed lunch material!

Instead of making dateorade I'd just take dates. Waaaay less oxidation will happen and dates are super packable. I've been eating dates for lunch for over the past 2 and a half year at school and I still haven't gotten sick of them ;)

I wouldn't recommend smoothies. Just bring a bag full of a single fruit, that usually works best. Mangoes are a great option, you can pre-peel them and put them in a container to save time too. Bananas are good, dates are good, lower cal fruit are iffy but if you eat a lot before or after work then you can make things like cantalope work well too. 

I have  plastic box that can hold & protect 8-9 banana could load many peaches pears persimmons ie  fragile fruits   

Bubblewrapped Bananas!

You could pack diffrent fresh fruits, dried fruits, few nuts or seeds in a japanese Bento Box.

I found mine today, and try to clean it. I thought it would be never ever gonna be clean. Plastic is hard to clean.

Lychees, melon + knife and spoon, carry dates in your pocket to snack on whilst working, apples, oranges.
Protect soft fruit with bubblewrap and perhaps put into a box, nature has already done the packaging you just need to work out how to transport it safely and unpackage it.
Wouldn't really bother with salad while at work - too few calories, bulky and easily damaged.

I used to cycle to work with 10+ bananas bubble wrapped in a rucksack on my back then eat them all (or most of them) in the 30 minute lunch break.
How do you pack a cooked lunch?
