30 Bananas a Day!

Hi my lovely friends,

Here I am in my first day of my period and I feel very tired and exhausted. I have been vegan since October 2013. My PMS haven't changed at all, they are actually horrible and I feel hate that makes me so sad when I finally get my period.

I am 33 y/o, vegan since October 2013, I get constipated easy during those days, horrible mood a week before getting my period, clogging and brownish drops at the end. I have never been on contraceptives (well only for three months when I was 18 y/o), I have no children and don't plan on having any...

I eat a very high carb low fat diet. I eat some processed foods on the weekends (still vegan), I drink from 3 to 4 litters of water, I do CrossFit 3 times a week.

How can I control the pms; Am I eating the wrong foods? I'll do an orange, potato island starting tomorrow... what do you suggest?

Thanks for your time and responses in advance.

This may surprise you, but even having some vegan junk on the weekends can throw everything off. About 8 months ago, I started suffering from HORRIBLE periods and pms. I've been vegan for 4 years, been HCLF for 2 years. I was trying to figure out what was wrong and I couldn't put my finger on it. Finally, I decided to experiment for 3 months (you need to give it enough time to affect your cycles) with an extremely pure low fat, low protein, high carb diet. I was already HCLF before. I would eat fruit for breakfast and sometimes lunch, other times I would eat pasta for lunch, then rice, beans, and broccoli for dinner. That's still vegan, high carb, low fat. I was getting 20 grams a fat per day, 100 grams of protein, and like 3,500 calories. So I thought that I would try to cut that protein and fat right down to see if that helped at all. So now I eat fruit for breakfast and lunch, and potatoes and spinach for dinner. My fat is around 6 grams per day, protein at around 50, and calories at around 3,000. So for the past 4 months I've done that and my periods have gotten much much better. My PMS is virtually gone and my periods themselves are a lot better. My horrific pain has been diminished (I used to have to lay in bed the entire first day crying in pain and now I only have pain for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening or so) and my breasts no longer hurt and I have minimal bloating. I think the VERY low fat and low protein diet has helped, along with the green leafy veggies (spinach and broccoli work best in my opinion). Maybe try that and see how it works for you. It has been working for me.

Seed cycling is an AMAZING way to help balance hormones, all naturally!
