30 Bananas a Day!

I have run into a stand still with my diet again.
I wish I never worried about my weight.
Is have been eating a high vegan diet for four years now. I’d like to stay on a vegan diet. What I do not like is the snacks I snack on such as veggie chips, nature path cereal, corn chips. I sometimes even eat m&ms. I have a mind set that my diet must be perfect… All raw foods. When in reality I feel my body needs more foods such a rice, legumes, etc.
I am constantly trying to do juice fasts and coconut water fasts whenever I feel I’ve become too heavy. (This is strong because I feel at a perfect weight one day and the next say I think I’ve gained so much weight looking much heavier than the day before).
Where do I begin? How do I know what to eat? I want to change this cycle.
I want to love my body.
I know excercising everyday will help me feel better and develop a better body image.

I can answer this question in a couple of words. 'Focus on RECOVERY. NOT weight'

Never feel as though you are restricting yourself on this lifestyle (rawtill4). You are in fact eating in abundance of the right foods. Embrace eating as much (fruits, roots and starches) as you want. Thrive from it. You can do this. You just have to believe that you can. When you do THAT is when you will start to feel good again

Thank you

<3

I know exactly how you feel- i always try to stick to 100% raw, because otherwise it feels like there's too much wiggle room, and i wont be as... Idk, pure? I dont even know. But i found the best way to navigate that is to make lists of what is ok and not ok, just from instinct. Theres an All-the-time Good foods (bananas, dates, green leafys, etc); all-the-time bad foods (meat, dairy, junky-junk foods) and yolo foods (raw vegan deserts, vegan curries, etc). And since I've had that list, its Been so much easier to not worry about gaining weight, cause I'm not eating the wrong stuff. It crosses one thing off my list of things to worry about. I hope that might help you out a bit, and don't worry, you're NOT alone. Mucho Love <3

Thank you Phebe! I am going to try that! Wow. I think that just may work for me... I will develop it day by day as I see what works for me and what doesn't..

Hi Dylann,

I remember when I first decided to change my lifestyle and go raw vegan, it was all so new and confusing with so many different opinions and so many different perspectives and sets of information. There seemed like so much to consider, and I was getting cravings for unhealthy food and I was bugging out.....What I'm trying to say is that I feel you. I empathize with what you are going through and how you are feeling. This is why the main underlying message which you will  see in Durianrider and Freelee's vids is so consistent and simplified. Because they have been there too.

It really all comes down to the following:

Breakfast: 800 - 1,000 calories fresh sweet fruit(bananas/dates/mangoes/peaches etc.)

Lunch: 800 - 1,000 calories fresh sweet fruit

Dinner: 800 - 1,000 calories fresh sweet fruit/or whole cooked starch(sweet potatoe, potatoe, rice etc..)

Exercise: Break a sweat at least once per day 4-6 times per week(obviously lots of room for variation here).

I started this lifestyle back in 2009. I went raw, had no clue what I was doing, ate mostly salad, got super skinny and weak and crazy. It sucked. This is why I am replying to you, so that I can save you this unpleasant part of the learning process. It really is as simple as the points I gave you above. I promise, this works. Please, please stop the juice and water fasts Dylann. You are doing unecessary harm to your body this way.  Even if you have no ripe fruit on hand and have a day of eating only sweet potatoe and rice, this is ok!! It is ok to eat whole cooked vegan starches. It is SOOO much healthier than "staying raw" and starving and yo yo-ing on a crazy roller coaster ride of hunger and binging and anxiety.  Just try your best to simplify your thoughts and your actions with regards to food. Learn to eat 8 ripe bananas at a time.  Then do this 3 times per day. Banana smoothies are a delicious and easy way to do this(banana + water). Bananas are cheap and easy to get and store, and the organic ones from Whole Foods taste amazing. Keep lots of them in stock at your house, buy a whole case at a time if you can. It will take time for you to learn how to buy and keep enough fruit on hand in different ripening cycles for you to have enough ripe fruit every day. Seriously this takes lots of learning and trial and error. So in the meantime DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF. Carb up every day, and you will not regret it. I promise. A simple plan would be to focus on Bananas, dates, sweet potatoes, and jasmine rice, then eat raw veggies(salads) a few times a week for some added nutrition. Salads are not a meal. They are a snack. I am sorry you are having a hard time. Just please try to simplify your approach and relax. It's only food. Keep it whole, low fat, high carb, vegan, and get on with your life outside of the kitchen. Feel free to post on my wall or message me any time. I am happy to assist.

I hope this helps.

Best Wishes,

-Chris

Thank you Chris.

Your information helps a lot. I started a hundred percent raw diet today. I remember when I last was eating this way... It was two years ago... and again 3 years before that. It is when I felt at my best physically and mindfully. I am excited for this commitment, for it is the first time in years I have felt glowing and truly happy for a change I am making for myself and my own well-being! I will probably message you if I need assistance, thank you again, Chris!

Wake up today, go into your bathroom, look into the mirror and repeat after me:

I AM NOT GOING TO LIVE IN FEAR ANYMORE.

I DO NOT HAVE TO BE AFRAID...EVER AGAIN.

I...AM...NOT...AFRAID!

I feel awesome! I'm having a great day! I am put on this planet for a reason, and I am waking up each morning on a mission to live my destiny!

We've all been waiting for something...waiting for the time to "start living life". Waiting for a vacation. Waiting for more money. Waiting for the perfect partner.

Maybe the time for waiting is over! Maybe this reality we are living in...wherever we are right now...THIS IS MY LIFE. THIS IS ME. I AM ALIVE IN THIS MOMENT.

This isn't about money anymore. This isn't about how we look. This isn't about our friends. This isn't about what we possess. Let it all go...none of these things matter anymore.

I WOULD RATHER LIVE IN TOTAL POVERTY BUT HAVE A LIFE FULL OF PASSION, THAN BE THE RICHEST MAN IN THE WORLD AND LIVE A MEANINGLESS EXISTENCE FOCUSED ON EMPTY MATERIAL GAIN!

I WOULD RATHER LIVE A LIVE HATED AND DESPISED BY ALL MANKIND AND UTTERLY ALONE, THAN BE THE WORLD'S MOST FAMOUS CELEBRITY, IF IT MEANT I WOULD LIVE A LIFE OF LOVE AND THAT I COULD SPEND MY TIME REVELING IN AWE AND WONDER AT ALL THIS AMAZING DIVINE CREATION!!!

Maybe it's about our state of existence.

WHO DO WE WANT TO BE TODAY?

HOW DO WE WANT TO FEEL TODAY?

WHY ARE WE HERE TODAY?

WHAT IS OUR MISSION?

How about instead of worrying all the time, and getting caught up in the dumb circumstances of our life...the weather...our classmates...our coworkers...money...news...tv...whatever...

WHAT IF WE JUST FOCUSED ON LIVING LIFE WITH PASSION? WHAT IF WE JUST FOCUSED ON CREATING THINGS (MUSIC/ART/BOOKS/PROJECTS/BUSINESS IDEAS/WHATEVER)? WHAT IF ALL WE DID WAS SHARE OUR ENTHUSIASM FOR MEANINGFUL THINGS WITH THE PEOPLE WE CARE ABOUT MOST?

Let's get excited! Let's say a little prayer, and step out into today BOLDLY.

WHAT IF EVERYTHING WE EVER WANTED, WAS RIGHT HERE IN FRONT OF US THE WHOLE TIME, AND ALL WE HAD TO DO WAS REACH OUT AND GRAB IT!!!

LET'S GET EXCITED! LET'S LIVE PASSIONATELY! WE ARE ALIVE!!!!

Let's put all this fear and negativity aside. THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN'T DO. Rather than make excuses, and live in fear of all the reasons why we might fail, or tell ourselves about all the things that could go wrong...LET'S JUST OPEN OUR HEARTS COMPLETELY AND STRIVE FOR A LIFE THAT IS VIBRANT, PASSIONATE, and ENERGIZED!!!!

Preach it girl! I will remember too stay optimistic and find the passion within myself to keep going, and most importantly to let go and let myself live happily and healthy!!!
