30 Bananas a Day!

Been eating a high raw cooked vegan diet, gained weight, sufferring from chronic back pain now


no i did not do anything to my back

yes i exercise every other day for 30 min (power walking)

yes i follow the banana girl diet to the T!

just like others i gained alot of weight on this diet, alot in my stomach, and now my lower back hurts alot

how long have you been on this diet?

over a year now

Was the weight gain recent?

i was about 105-110 pounds when i started a year ago. now i am 146, it was gradual. but once i started this diet i was putting on the pounds and noticed, but listened to freelee that it is okay.

I doubt the back pain is from the diet, do you sit properly.

i know the diet didnt cause the back pain. the diet caused the weight gain. the weight gain caused the back pain. yes i sit properly

i went from 181 to 164. usually i get sore when i'm dehydrated. drink up. also could be your mattress, try sleeping on the floor and see how you feel

i've had the same mattress for years, why the sudden back pain now?

Hi Geena, that doesn't sound very encouraging for you and i would have to say that feeling so crap would be rather off putting for me too.  The only advice i can give you (as a newbee) is to just keep positive with this way of eating, and experiment to see what your body will tolerate over time.  It appears that some people do well on one type of fruit, while others do better on other types.

I know for myself, i have abused my body with unhealthy food choices most of my life, so i know its going to take abit of time for my system to readjust and balance itself out now that i have started eating so much more healthier.  Its not easy to stick to something that doesn't make you feel good ( i know), but like someone said to me keep strong, keep positive, and have faith in your yourself, and your body knows what is good for it, even after years of abuse. 

Remember i wrote that post a couple of weeks back asking about does it get easier - well yes it has - albeit slowly - but it has. I guess its just hard for you at the moment as your body is getting exposed to a more healthier way of eating. Maybe this is your body detoxing and getting used to the new food you are putting into it.  Guess there's no overnight miracle going to happen for some of us transitioning….Dunno - just trying to be positive for you.  Keep regular contact with this site, as there is so much interesting and encouraging info here and supportive people - well thats what i've found. i dont want to go to any other diet, i love raw till 4, 801010, 30bad etc. i just dont know why i've gained so much weight and now i am a 17 year old with back pain most 40 year olds and up get?

Haha love it - i'm 46 and never had back pain in my life. We're not so decrepit at 40+ =)

Mind you i probably thought 40+ was old at 17 years old. Sheesh i can't even remember lol

Hopefully someone will give you the answer you are looking for, which will help get you back on track and motivated again. 

You have to consider your history. It can take years to heal your body from the abuse it may have gone through. Eating disorders can especially wank up your metabolism.
