I am starting an animal rights club at my school and I need to write a 'club proposal' for the principles.
I need to include animal organizations that we would fundraise for and donate to and also activities we could do!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
I'd be happy to help you. :) I started an AR club in my school over 20 years ago! It was called SAAVE Students Against Animal Violence Everywhere.
As for Club Principles, why not adopt this from PETA: Animals are not ours to eat, wear or experiment on or use for entertainment.
As for groups you'd fundraise for...what kind of work do you want to support? Mercy for Animals is a great group to support.
Regarding ideas, I have plenty so keep asking away if you need more:
I had students bring back animal tested products and we packaged them and sent them back to specific companies asking them to stop testing and there was a petition for students. You can get guides to companies that don't test on animals from PETA and share with kids
We added vegan veggies burgers to the Cafeteria menu...got enough kids to sing a petition and added more veg options.
Get the Biology Department to offer alternatives to using animals. We did classroom presentations about the use of animals...you can get videos from PETA.
The best thing you can do is sign up with PETA2.com and they will support you every single step of the way. There are full time staff there to do nothing but guide and give you all you need to raise awareness.
Good luck and happy advocating! Thank you for your compassion for all beings!
