30 Bananas a Day!

Hi everyone.  This site is like a ray of sunshine, I love reading eveyone's blogs and success!  I promise this will be my one dark plea for help as I wonder if anyone else has experienced this.  There is no doubt in my mind that this is the lifestyle that I want to embrace (low fat raw) and I have spent the last few months reading blogs, reading 80-10-10 and have watched many u-tube videos.  I am so excited to get started.  Here is where the problem is.  Every day I say to myself "one more time of junk food and I will start tomorrow!"  I know that I have turned to food to numb out my misery of working in a cubicle 8 hours a day and single parenting to two beautiful, extremely active, demanding teenagers.  Whether the junk food calling is emotional or physical I know that once I embrace the raw life I will be much happier and healthier to deal with my day and have clarity to actually make it better.  I have this "all or nothing" attitude which keeps me from being OK with being raw 1/2 the day etc. until I slowly adapt it as my lifestyle.  I think the desperation of wanting to lose the extra weight is not helping either.  Ok, I sound like a mess, I guess I am. :) Any advise appreciated, thank you all for this community!

Hi Stacy!

It might be a good idea to buy a blender/mixer. Smoothies are made very easy and quickly (banana smoothie for example) and it's delicious. You can vary a lot with fruits and vegetables.

Make sure you drink enough water before you eat. I try to drink 3 liters of water a day, not counting the added water to my smoothies. But I try to drink 1 liter before each meal. It is possible that you digestion needs to get used to all the fibers from fruits and veggies. Be patient and give your body the time to get used to your new lifestyle :)

Also, try to get enough sleep! This is very important. I try to get like 8/9 hours of sleep per night. And don't worry too much about your weight. With this lifestyle you will lose fat and you'll feel much more fit and energetic. Just make sure you eat enough carbs!

You sound just like me when I started out!  LOL!  Life's a journey.  Take one day at a time, put one foot in front of the other.  Do a little better each day, and before long, you'll look back and say, "WOW, I can't believe I came this far."
