I have been 100% raw for the last 4-5 months and felt great, never had any cravings. But all of a sudden for the last week I just crave rice, even when it's not around.
I eat 2500 calories, most of which come from dates.
Please help! I don't want to give in.
I think what might be going on here is that you want some VOLUME. Dates are high in calories yes but it's kind of like throwing pennies down a well. Fill yourself right up with rice if you need to.
yep could be a volume thing.
Yes, maybe my body needs something more dense and not so light. What I'm scared of is if I start eating rice that I won't be able to stop because its soooo addicting!
you can also try to substitute rice with quinoa or buckwheat :) both are a bit lighter for the GI tract or if you do eat rice then go for the whole grain rice/ brown rice that has not been polished or whitened
Thanks for the advice! I didn't know that quinoa and buckwheat were lighter, I should definitely do that, since my system isn't used to dense drier foods.
yes, they are very light! just make sure to sprout buckwheat and quinoa and they will be even better!
i dont crave non fruit items like specifically too much but what i crave is something not sweet. I'm great blowing fruits all day long but come dinner time i'm done i want something not sweet then after dinner I usually want more sweets again.
I just get bored and need a break from fruits. salads and such help but they dont satisfy me like say rice would.
so you might just need a high volume satisfying not sweet meal.
I never had these cravings for this whole time. The actual thought of eating rice or anything cooked actually sounded repulsive to me, but then suddenly after months of 100% raw… haha
I know! Cooked food is so addictive, when I was a cooked vegan I stuffed myself to the point of making myself sick. That's why I don't know what to do! I don't want to give in, but then I think I should… :(
Eating rice now will probably make me sick.
Maybe you can buy yourself your favorite fruit so that will make you feel better, I love grapes and papaya so if I find myself craving something I know is bad for me I'll buy my favorite fruits, they are expensive so its more of a treat then a nourishment.
