30 Bananas a Day!

Hey all!

I am experiencing bad and at times unbearable pain in my arms, shoulders and occasionally the chest after eating watermelon, apples, and grapes. Anyone else having this problem or know what the cause is? I eat 2500 calories a day (still working up the hunger and increasing the exercise). I eat watermelon or grapes or apples as mono meals on an empty stomach. I've been mostly raw for about three months now (about 85% with the occasional slip up or intentional high carb cooked vegan meal - all vegan though). Coming from a cooked vegan diet. No issues with blood work or any other noticable issues. I only have this problem with those three fruits (so far). Bananas and dates are fine. Suggestions welcome and desired!

Perhaps it is related to food combining,

Hope your discomfort is nothing serious,  

As I said I am eating mono meals on an empty stomach. Hard to have food combining issues when you are eating only one food ;-)

Hi Lauren, eliminate one at a time, i would be willing to bet its the apples though.

Eat more bananas instead.

It happens on all of them when I eat them alone as mono meals.

I hope your problem has solved since; but I have the same symptoms after the same fruit. If you did solve it, can you maybe tell me what was the issue? I'd appreciate!

I have felt slight pains in my back when eating watermelon too fast or drinking apple cider too quickly. Not sure why and I don't think in my case its food combos. Sorry I know not much help. 

Oh geez!!! The pain is very slight on right in the middle of my back and like I said it doesn't happen anymore as long as I eat slowly. I just had my blood tests completed and all my levels were right down the middle of suggested levels so I should be good. That's good to hear though on your success!

Yeah I'm thinking I need to eat more slowly. I'll try that.

Bananas and date are so easy to eat, watery foods can cause problems and i can only re-iterate what everyone else has said take your time. You will enjoy it more anyway, as with most pleasurable things in life. :D

Same thing used to happen to me, it was quite painful. The only time this doesn't happen is when I eat slower. Bottom line, your just eating too fast.

Yep! Tried eating them more slowly and no issue. Winning! I'm guessing it's an indigestion issue with eating too quickly.

Have you had this pains again? I am new to this, and just ate a watermelon and the pain was very strong. On the chest and top of right arm. Did eating more slowly resolve this?
