I used to have annoying acne as a young teen (it started at around age 12), and at age 15 i decided to go on accutane, which cleared my skin up completely. I became vegetarian around 10 months ago, and during this i saw no changes in my skin, BUT basically a week after i cut dairy and eggs and became high carb vegan (4 months ago), my skin erupted with small bumps mostly on my forehead and cheeks. they used to be colourless and plenty, but now it has changed to more severe acne, with painful red bumps all over my cheeks :( has anyone else experienced this?? my skin has been continuously breaking out for 4 months and its getting pretty hard to believe that its only detox....
(i have been eating predominantly raw till 4 with some cooked lunch days)
Are you touching them at all or covering them? A detox can turn in to a cycle of atopic horror if you mess with it, the irritation from prodding, poking, hot water, scrubbing, concealer or any of those things can start up a whole new batch of skin buildup, clogging more pores and making new clusterfracks.
Best of luck. <3
yeah i have noticed that my skin does get more inflamed when i wear makeup, and now that i think of it i may touch my skin a bit too much. i will try minimise this, Thank you!! :)
When I was young (and dumb) about 17-18 I think it was I got bad acne especially on my back. I used live very unhealthy, smoking weed and doing some other drugs.
I took accutane and the acne went away, some years later it appeared again to a much lesser extent. I've been vegan since april 2013 and I think it got a bit better at first when I started when I was mostly raw, I still haven't got rid of it, I get it mostly on my cheeks.
I've been eating a lot of rice, wheat, corn and been consuming store bought tomato and salsa sauces daily
My acne as increased a bit lately, so I've decided to go strict raw and eating greens every day starting this week. I have never done this for any good amount of time before so I'm hoping this will get rid of it.
How's your diet, do you eat processed food?
I always have a fruit breakfast and most of the time a raw fruit and/or salad lunch, but my dinners are usually rice/potatoes, cooked veggies and a side salad OR a lentil or bean soup with salad. The processed food i do eat is bread, rice crackers/cakes and hummus, but not too often.
And your plan to eat raw is really good, its been hard for me to eat fully raw because of school and living with my family- so basically i have not yet been fully raw for more than 1 day haha. But i have been wanting for a long time to do exactly what you said, and it feels like the perfect time right now to try it so i am doing the same too. I will see how i go, good luck to you!
Thank you fingers crossed. You might find this video by Nina and Randa usefull https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Qdwn2itsgg&feature=iv&src_...
A few months after becoming RT4 I began to break out pretty bad. It would annoy me how everyone categorized it as "detox", because the acne kept getting worse and worse. I discovered that I have a sensitivity to fats. This was the cause of my acne. Even though I was hardly eating any, cutting these things out completely has totally changed my skin.
-sauces with oil
-all soy (occasionally I still eat GF soy sauce)
i really want to try cutting out oils but i always rely on my family making dinner since im so busy with school! :( i definitely will try it at some point though. how long did it take for you to see results?
