30 Bananas a Day!

I just read an article saying that healthy women (health was defined as vegan and grain free eating habits) don't have menstruation periods. It was stated that during those days woman's body cleanses and that it shouldn't be like that, it's unhealthy and an unnatural process to our bodies. What do you think about it? I haven't looked more into it yet and I'm just curious what you think about it. As I see it, it really makes sense and yet there are so many healthy women who do have their periods...

I'm so happy for you Chee, that's wonderful to hear! I can't wait until mine improves even more. Hearing things like this definitely fills me with hope that it'll get better over time :)

I'm going to pop in here and say that I don't think it's natural for women not to bleed AT ALL, and I base this on purely how the biological function of periods work. Absolutely no, being crippled in pain for a week with a whole other bunch of nasty symptoms is NOT NORMAL.

However for me, the way that this lifestyle has helped my in relation to periods is that I've never EVER had a regular period! I'm 20 today and have had my period for what.. 7 years? Can't remember exactly. Although I've never had problems with pains, only discomfort, I've never had a regular period or a regular flow and the blood I did bleed was always dark and sometimes clumpy. The problem worsened over the past couple of years where my period would not come for 6 - 8 months and then I'd have one period and wait another couple of months. Now I have, not completely regular - but more regular periods, a "nice" colour of the blood, shorter cycle, no discomfort at all, no PMS acne and no water retention or anything. That is what I'd classify as a healthy period, not no period at all!
