This is just my 3rd day raw, but I already feel much better.
I love the results I'm seeing and feeling.
I was adding probably too much salt to my cooked foods, not large amounts (yuck)
But enough to retain quite a bit of the 2 gallons of water I drink every day (is that weird?).
Don't ask why I drink that much water, it's just what my body wants.
I would wake up feeling and appearing puffy (Ewwww)
Anyways, I do believe investing in your HEALTH is much better than investing in anything else.
I personally don't mind spending more money just for one more meal of raw food every evening. It's worth it to me.
Anyone else transition from Rt4 to Fully Raw and have a great testimonial? I'd Love to hear it!
Off for my morning run;)
Happy Saturday Folks
AbsoRootly! You can also juice them but I usually eat them for the fiber and calories. The ones with orange pulp are the most nutritious. There are a bunch of recipes online. Raw sweet potato has helped me get in more carbs through starches. It's the regular non-sweet potatoes that have toxins. I tried them raw but didn't like them. Good luck!
Raw can mean a lot of different diets. Also can mean a lot of different lifestyles.
Freelee can eat out each night of the week at a vegan restaurant and still be leaner and fitter than Kristina who eats tomatoes for dinner when out with family.
Depends on the persons goals, budget, location and current lifestyle.
Going raw, 811-style, is only worth it if you want to feel amazing all the time & have tremendous mental clarity throughout the entire day. If you don't mind feeling more mellow, then other dietary approaches are more suitable. Not that that's a bad thing - like DurianRider said, it's all about your personal goals. Food is awesome & it really depends on what you want out of your diet at different times in your life.
Personally I think it's nice not to have food comas anymore. Sometimes I want them, like if I want to chill & watch a movie and just veg all night, I'll whip up some coconut milk ice cream, falafel, and other goodies, but most of the time I'd rather just feel great 24/7. It's nearly 2am here, I just finished up some on-call weekend work, and I feel absolutely fine, just like I did when I woke up this morning. I don't really experience energy dips anymore (especially the mental ones where my brain says "I've had enough, time to relax & not think about anything anymore tonight!"), especially in the evening, which is a nice perk.

Maybe you're puffy in the morning because you drink 8 liters of water a day. I'm 6'4", 185 lbs, I either go running or cycling 5 days a week, and I manage to put back 3-4 liters a day (and I pee clear many times a day).
I think I wanted more water before because I was eating too much salt. Now I don't crave as much water, although I do put some in my smoothies and a lot of fruit I eat also has a lot of water in it. Since going raw, I'm not puffy at all.
