30 Bananas a Day!

Feeling the need to up my total caloric intake for today (from a measly 400 cals including lunch), I just sucked down a 16oz high-calorie-sugar smoothie that consisted of 7 Medjuls, 8oz. coconut water and 3 bananas. (@ 700 cals?) It tasted so unearthly-good that I naturally feel that I must be doing something horribly bad for my body, since this goes against everything that I have learned about nutrition in the past 20 years.  That said, I invite anyone to share their thoughts regarding the sugar from dates, and espcially this kind of sugar loading with "datorade" because I am so heavily programed to think that I am kicking the crap out of my pancreas.

I keep my fat down to 10%, so not worried any longer about the fat interfering with the sugar metabolism.

The caloric density of datorade will help me to gain weight. Thank you. mark
hey mark! i get the same guilt pangs too because i used to get the same kick out of chocolate before zoning out for the rest of the day. with dates, i get the high but no zoning out:) im still getting heaps of well-meaning advice with my fruit intake (which is actually pretty low, coz i often undereat, but high for my family's standards) and people usually watch me with a worried look on their faces when im stuffing myself with watermelon.

thing is i feel much better with the fruit in my tummy rather than the cookies and bread that i have when i fall off the wagon. so im trying to shut out some of the little nasty voices in my head telling me im overloading sugar (one of my friends told me heaps of people get diabetes from eating high GI stuff which includes watermelon-and that scared me off for months). well, im a newbie so im still figuring stuff out as well but my guess is ur dateorade is way better than a pint of ben n jerry's:)

The only convincing I needed that sugers weren't bad for you was the nature channel. Look at the monkeys chomping down on all those fruits, I've never heard of one of them getting diabetes or a failed pancreas. But it happens all the time with the fatty human diet.

I'm on my 5th day of 811 myself and I'm letting nature decide what's good for me instead of years of bad nutritional research done on overweight people.

I think that if you balance the fruit with some greens you are perfectly fine. I have had problems with chest pains and have completely eradicated them by having some greens with my fruit, unblended tender leafy greens that are good tasting. I think this pain might have something to do with the pancreas since it is in that general area.
