The medicine im taking for my UTI is making me throw up my fruit. I cant digest it anymore. The doctor told me i have to eat it with a piece of bread. I know its because fruit doesnt require stomach digestion but bread does because its acid, and the acid in the stomach helps to break down the medicine. (I have to eat it with food otherwise I throw up) It f*kin sucks!!! im getting tired now because i had to switch from raw to cooked. This is the third one I've gotten since I got pregnant. Anyone know of ways to prevent UTI's? Does cranberry juice really work?
If you feel you have to take the medicine, eat it with some brown rice to avoid throwing up. It will give you decent carbs and stay in your stomach a few hours. Eat a fruit meal, an hour later eat rice with the meds.
How long have you been hcrv? If you're getting frequent infections there's something going on. Your body is out of balance in some way. Do you have a lot of stress? Do you exercise? What do you eat, normally, on a daily basis? Hope you feel better soon, UTI's are not fun. In my experience hcrv lifestyle as worked for preventing unhealthy symptoms.
Ive been almost 100% for 1 week, and i've been watching my fat intake for 2 weeks. Thanks for the tip this is exactly what I did- i had a fruit meal in the morning and then cooked food with the meds. I am definitely stressed, new baby, new job, new apartment, new diet...it was very hard at first and now im starting to be more organized and being able to take care of myself better. I do not exercise right now, out of exhaustion. I am not worried about that though it will come. These UTI's are definitely annoying though.
Sounds like you have candida issue...I would cut out all overt fats and see what happens. Fat not sugar is the candida link.
I have a UTI not candida lol.
They are often connected.
If you want to cure a UTI, drink tons of water! I had one almost a month ago and I cured it by drinking 4 liters of water in 4 hours. I peed A LOT ! And it helped so much . By the end of the 4 hours the pain was nearly gone. Water heals :) I didn't need cranberry juice or any antibiotics. I took antibiotics before the most recent UTI and I felt terrible - super low energy, tired, zombie-like. Honestly, doing what I did is your best bet. I know other 30Baders have posted about this and this is the advice that was given there. Try it :)
Yeah thats probably why I have UTI is i dont drink enough water, i have a weird aversion to it.
I have known countless women who have had no relief from the antibiotics used to treat UTIs. Here are my tips to clear it up.
As others have said, drink lots of water
Rest and destress as much as possible. UTIs tend to come up during times of intense stress.
Don't EVER use soap on your genitals. It is self-cleaning and it has its own flora. If you kill off the good bacteria and dry out the area with soap, it makes it prone to infection. Bubble bath is especially bad.
Make sure you pee immediately after having sex!
If you are using condoms, don't use ones that contain spermicide (this doesn't sound like your issue, but for others who get UTIs, this could be helpful info)
Go without underwear for awhile. Wear a long skirt; no one will know.
If you can sunbathe in the nude, do it!
Never wear anything on your lower half that is not a breathable natural fiber. If you have polyester underwear, throw it in the trash.
Candida can be a contributing factor. Skip the overt fats. If you have a vaginal yeast infection, take a hot bath (water only) to relieve external symptoms.
Thanks for the tips!!! It was very helpful.
I'm glad it was helpful! Hope you feel better soon.
yes cranberry juice is good. but parsley tea is much better. parsley will kill the 'germs' in your bladder... just heat up your water and throw some raw parsley in..or if u dont heat anything just make u some parsley shots. blend it up and down the hatch. hth..feel better soon!!
Parsley is an abortifacient (can cause miscarriage). Parsley tea is probably not strong enough to hurt a fetus in 2nd or 3rd trimester, but that depends on how strong the tea is and how much one drinks of it. I would avoid parsley juice and tea completely in the 1st trimester of pregnancy.
