30 Bananas a Day!

Are there any studies or links someone can provide that shows a fruititarian diet is OK for kids, my husband is worried about our 11 month old be a use he's skinny, he thinks he needs rice and beans and I want to keep him raw for at least another year. Pics to show he's not too skinny.

I'm not sure he looks healthy to me. my 2 little ones routinely mow down my smoothies and such. some days thats about all they will eat is fruit and my smoothies. Other days? yeah they will reach for donuts or some nonsense too I do what I can.

Mine will also gladly mow down rice and beans and veggies as well they prefer it over anything else you might offer for dinner.

Why do you think he looks unhealthy?

Oh i'm sorry I guess that doesnt read well. I meant to say I'm not sure, he looks healthy to me. IE I'm not an expert but he looks healthy to me.

geeze i'm so sorry about that ::FACEPALM::

Worth noting that Cappi eats vegetables as well, in case anyone was under the assumption that he is 100% fruitarian.

Wow! That kid is cool :D Thanks for posting!

oops

Have you considered using cronometer?

You could keep a record of what he is eating over a few weeks/months and then it will give you a clear picture of what nutrients he is or isn't getting. I've found it really helpful as an adult, it can be time consuming to use but it does get easier once you are familiar with the program.

Good luck. Hugs

U might want to check MangoIslandMama, She has two rawvegan kids and they're adorable :-)

He looks like an ideal weight and looks perfectly healthy to me! If you are educated and know what you are doing with his diet, if he is having a lot of variety and a big amount of calories...then I would keep doing what you are doing! I applaud you!! I wish my father had not encouraged us to eat the flesh of my friends. I will always regret it.

Good luck!!!

I'm interested in this too for my kids. Your son looks very healthy so whatever you're doing now must be working for him.
