Hello. I have a dry mouth when I sleep...and I believe it is due to the sugar in fruit. Dont get me wrong I wont stop eating fruit. But I had this conversation with a raw vegan today (raw vegan for 3 years) and she said she had the same problem. She had cavities and had to change toothpase.
Hi, interesting. I have mouth problem too, and I believe that fruits make it worse. I have braces, which injures my cheeks and tongue a lot. It should heal with time, normally. But it doesn´t. I have the feeling that the acidity in fruits prevents my mouth from healing. So I don´t know what I should do. Stop eating so many fruits??
I also have a very dry mouth when I sleep, but I am not sure if it wasn´t like that too before I was on this diet.
Today I bought sugar free gum to help create saliva. I will use before I go to bed. The person I spoke with told me her dentist recommended her to buy pronamel toothpaste which I also bought. Flossing and brushing teeth twice a day and drinking lots of water and you can also chew on crushed ice.
Sugar free gum generally has aspartame in it. Pronamel toothpaste has fluoride and other bad stuff in it. You might want to find some other ways to improve your situation.
Do you sleep breathing out your mouth? I used to but I managed to clear out my nose after eating clean for a while and I can easily breath out my nose now.
The gum doesnt have aspartame. Yes I know fluoride is bad...I ditched my old toothpaste (crest) and bought a natural one..but I want to try pronamel since that is what a dentist recommended for her dry mouth.
No I breathe through my nose.
My mom doesnt pay for my dentist anymore so I will try anything that doesnt involve spending a fortune.
fruit is made from a very high content of water so not sure where your going there - what fruit are you eating, dehydrated fruit ?
I eat moslty bananas and dates. I other fruits like grapes melon mango...not nearly as much as bananas and dates.
I understand...but it may the acidity from the fruit...
