30 Bananas a Day!

Hello lovelies!

So I'll be honest, I am "high-carb" on and off. I always eat vegan, but while I FEEL amazing while eating high-carb, I honestly feel extremely self-conscious during photo shoots about having a "fruit belly". For me, it's just not worth it! I know Freelea says your body "balances out" eventually, but I am modeling NOW, and modeling lingerie and nude very often. If I only eat a little before a shoot - flat belly, it looks wonderful. If I chug a high-carb smoothie - there's the belly that I don't even have showing up in the photos! I'm not sure what to do about this. Part of me wants to eat high-carb vegan for the ultimate energy and health, but part of me wants to feel confident ALL THE TIME, just eat vegan, run, and feel good.

Has anyone else gone through this dilemma? Certainly as models, having a belly is not the most desirable thing! People say it's "natural"... perhaps it is... but most photographers and models don't want it in the photos!

This was mostly a rant... but any words of advice are appreciated! :)

What I usually do is do banana island the day before, because in the morning everything is nice and flat (less water retention and all) and then the duration of the shoot I snack on grapes for example and water because I don't bloat, it doesn't ruin the makeup and it's a constant energy hit. Then as soon as I'm done- straight back to really carbing up, because otherwise I start craving bad food. The only issue I've had with this is that when I'm not raw and I do this, my skin can react because it starts detoxing. This usually doesn't happen until day 2 onwards though. But if you haven't had any skin problems to begin with, you will be fine, I'm sure. My skin is somewhat tempestuous, so any change of diet/exercise and detox/sickness all show up for me on my skin. Hope all goes well for you x

try to schedule shoots early in the day and eat a date smoothie with high carbs but lower volume or watermelon which is high in water content and digests super fast (for me at least) for breakfast, then eat the bulk of your food after the shoot. that's what I do
