I'm wondering is organic frozen spinach are raw?
I know greens are generally boiled for a few minutes before to be frozen, so, I guess they are not raw until specifically mentioned.
Do you know some brand of raw frozen spinach (or other greens) or how to froze your own the raw way?
don't know which brand would be raw but you can freeze pretty much everything yourself :) just wash the spinach let it dry on a towel for an hour or so or use the salad drier, place into a plastic container and then put into the freezer :) fresh is of course best but it's better to do yourself than buy :) i haven't tried spinach but I did freeze parsley and some kale :) so i think with spinach it would be similar :)
You're correct that most all veggies are pre-cooked as you describe. Never heard one advertised as raw, but then why would they as most frozen products are designed to be cooked anyway.
You can always experiment by freezing your own, though it's better raw. Maybe if you have too much and must keep it from going off.
Just keep in mind that spinach isn't an ideal staple greens due to its high oxalate content. Fun on occasion if you like it, but better to focus on the tender lettuce types.
