Forming healthy/eco co-op house: Bay Area of California

Hi!  I'm working on forming a small co-op of up to probably 5 people at most in the Bay Area of California.  The city will probably be Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, San Jose, or a hilly/lake/park section of Berkeley or Oakland.  Each person will hopefully pay under $600/month total for rent+utilities, and refundable security deposit of $0-600.  Move-in date at earliest would be May 13, 2013.  Even if I end up moving to some other home for awhile, this co-op idea is still one I'd like to co-create at some point hopefully within 2013.

I don't know yet if it'll be 100% low-fat raw vegan, or just vegan, or just vegetarian, or what.  But nutrition and growing produce will definitely be welcome, and I do really enjoy living with vegans and especially fruit heads.  (I'm low-fat high-raw vegan.)

There are many other ways I dream of this home being a healthy, relaxed, warm oasis: non-toxic cleaning products, no strong chemical smells (sage, incense, essential oils welcome), no cigarettes, no daily/heavy drug use, quiet enough to sleep 10pm-10am, conflicts handled maturely, monthly house meetings, chore chart, yoga and dance and healing arts and other art not forced yet very welcome, often-opened sunny windows, etc.  And of course the nearby redwoods and beach and California gorgeous nature and awesome conscious events.

Please let me know if this resonates!! :D  The Bay Area is very special...can tell you about it if you haven't visited yet.

Wow, this looks amazing! Would love to live in this kind of environment, but we have 2 kids.

Good luck x

Super cool!

I'm an SF native going to into my junior year at college in Oregon. I aspire to be completely HCRV but it's a process getting that much fruit so I eat some cooked starches.

I am also an ashtanga yoga aspirant and an ultra marathon runner, and I adore the idea I living in a community like you described.

Perhaps a couple years in the future? Lets connect!

Ben

Did this end up being started?  I just moved into the area and if this is still happening I'd like to be a part of it sometime next year if it's in Berkeley or Oakland.

Oh wow, I wish wish wish I was in cali right now. Sounds epic.

Did anything ever some of this? I"m very interested in this idea!
