I've just been pondering a comment I saw this morning on durianrider's latest video. Someone complained he was pushing the same diet the USDA is pushing - all that low fat food with ~hidden~ sugars - and look how fat everyone is!!
And I'm thinking, dude, are you on a different planet? Everywhere I look, literally everywhere, I see no one eating low fat, I see unrelenting HIGH fat consumption. Every cafeteria, every food court, everyone's made-at-home lunch - all loaded in grease and salt. When I'm stuck in a mall, the only possible choice is the Booster Juice stall - everything else is burgers, pizza, fries, or "healthly" salads with oily cheese dressings - or ice cream, or donuts!
And the government endorsed food pyramid, last time I checked, wasn't low fat - just full of animal products and refined grains.
As someone here put it - I look at what people eat now and the crap no longer looks real - it's like everyone is a little crazy - putting that stuff in their mouth and expected to look/feel good...
Can't even imagine eating that... doesnt even seem tasty! more as if it was meant for a throw-up contest :O
