I'm a bit lost at the moment and I'm hoping someone can help me. I've been on and off vegan for the last year, I always seem to fall off the wagon then eat a ton of animal products then start again. I'm considered obese, I recently went to the doctor's and he gave me a meal plan for a 'paleo' style diet and said if I was serious about losing weight I would follow this low carb plan. I want to stay vegan and I don't agree with the paleo diet, however I don't exactly know how to stick to being vegan. My health is getting worse and worse and I feel like I have no where left to turn. I'm feeling really confused right now and all I want is to get healthy and to lose weight! Someone help!
Yeah they are recommending low carb diet because if your diet has a lot of fat and carbs at the same time then the body will store the fat as fat and use the carbs as fuel (this video explains why https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVDPk_iXtqU) And because meaty diets have alot of fat in them. Especially milk and the milk is so often eaten with some carbs so the milks fat will be the fat you wear. :(
Hope you get better. <3 Don't be so harsh on yourself because the long term result mean the most! And the fact that you know about this lifestyle means that in a long run by eating more and more like this you get more healthy. :)
Oh and also try to make sure why you are falling off the wagon. Are you eating enough calories from whole foods? I could not stay rawtill4 at first mainly because I wasn't eating enouch calories from fruits.
Thanks for your reply, I find it difficult to eat enough on this lifestyle I think it's past habits of restricting. Should I count my calories so I know I'm eating enough?
Oh yes it would prevent from under eating which leads to cravings and eating non vegan foods even. At first I didn't use cronometer but when I started to use it my journey to more raw food was more easier. ^^
At first it was hard for me to get big amounts of food to my stomach which lead to under eating of fruits which lead to me eating potato chips and other vegan high calorie foods because of hunger. ^^
Great advice from Pallur! I would set up a circle of foods I will not eat outside of and then have your optimum circle inside of that one. Using cronometer to count calories is almost essential for success. You must stick to high calorie fruits and high carb cooked to stave off cravings. Keep going, you are on the right path!

Great video from Durianrider here explaining why folks carrying extra weight need to eat more, must eat enough!
Oh and looks like he made a second one, bonus! :D
much love to you ;) <3 That first video is so eye opening o_m_g :O Makes me feel sad for everybody who are fooled by society. :/
Thanks for all your help guys!
Hey Annie :) For me the education on the cruelty that goes on toward animals is the key factor. Yeah health is a nice side benefit but for me, destroying another beings life to satisfy some hunger or craving is completely unacceptable and I will never partake in it ever again. So my point is...maybe if you watched all the relevant docos such as Cowspiracy and Earthlings then you would really understand and it would be easy for you to stick to veganism. Of course you have to be prepared and surround yourself with loads of the good stuff. Carb up honey :) and educate up and you will be just fine :) I wish you good luck on your journey x
