I am not sure, however if you are experiencing the desire to eat soil, then it could be cravings for needed nutrients.  Could be a B-12 deficit or also, I read recently on here, parasites.  I know..  that freaked me out, too, but apparently pica (the craving for non-foods) is real condition..

lol no no no I apologise if i was not clear but i dont want to eat soil, i hate it!:P its the most disgusting thing ever!!! The only reason i am doing it is because i heard its natural to eat vege's with some soil on them for b12. Plus i am so lazy, i dont wanna wash each leaf individually as i eat them

lol...  that's awesome..

I get the big plastic bin of org. greens (spring mix, etc) and then just spray them off and kind of muddle them around a bit under the water.  Then I pat them dry somewhat w/ paper towels or a clean towel.  That's one way of doing it. :)  Makes them a bit more crispy, too.

Not quite sure about eating dirt, though.  I heard (don't quote me) that humans eat, on average, about a pound of dirt per year.  .. hm..  can't be that bad?

Watch you don't crack a tooth on a small rock. My mate did that once. Nasty stuff!

lol i assure you harley there are no rocks in the lettuce at woolworths lol so do not worry about me:P
