Do you guys do it? Where don't you do it? What about at restaurants?
I find it so hard to take out 10 bananas from my backpack in school and eat them in class. Or sit in the brake room and eat a few bunches of bananas in front of my co-workers.
I'm finding it challenging to eat enough with my apprehensions to eating a LARGE volume in front people and since I like to talk (I'm a chatter box) I can't find time to eat so much when i'm around people, i just want to TALK. I'd love to just take 30 bananas with me when I leave the house for the day and eat them whenever I want, Instead of making a smoothie, and i would love to not feel any anxiety about taking them out and eating them in class or at work.
I'm very busy now (Which is a huge change) and I'm only at the house for a few hours each day (excluding sleeping), meaning I have to eat in front of people when I'm not used to doing so. A smoothie just seems like I'm trying to hide my diet, when I don't want to! I want to share with others.
Thanks for your feedback!
everyone at my work is used to it now. a few have tried my smoothie actually. :)
i always get jokes slung at me by one of my managers. im used to it by now, thats just his humor.
at school i have broken out my smoothie jars in the library or in a class once or twice and always get asked questions and get stares. its normal for people to be curious, they all think eating animals is normal, so once u break out a jar of fruit, its foreign and strange to them lol.
anything that is not seen as "the norm" is going to get looked at or viewed differently. sadly that can include people making fun of u or lashing out. that is their own problem though, and not yours. you are doing what you want to do, and if they dont like it or think its weird, just smile and take another bite of fruit. or hit em with a little come back if u like :)
I have no problem eating 10+ bananas in front of co-workers... The truth is it is so much healthier than what they are eating, and they know it. There's nothing to be ashamed of.
A few days ago I was eating in the staff lounge. A large number of the staff is on Weight Watchers, and they were all eating their pre-packaged, artificial "healthy" meals at one end of the table. They saw me eating a grapefruit and nodded appreciatively, saying that Weight Watchers recommends eating a few pieces of grapefruit every few days because it was healthy. Then they did a double-take when I took out four more grapefruit and a head of cauliflower!
