yeah I have spoken to him in person about it at the Raw Spirit 07, he is pretty adamantly against it. I still haven't figured out exactly why potatoes, brown rice and lentils are better than fruit in his opinion. I'd like to know.
He says he's seen too many fruit eaters get heavy cravings for meat, or animal products because their bodies need salt - and animal products tend to be salty. And that it would be far healthier to eat a bowl of potatoes, etc, than to eat animals. I take it these people didn't meet their need for sodium, etc.. It seems like just a lack of info...
I'm still listening right this minute and he goes on to say he thinks fruit consumption is massively important, but - personally, I am way to new to lfrv to have an opinion but he does say he was "mostly fruitarian" which is why it prob. didn't work for him, from everything I've learned so far. He also says flat out that he doesn't know one long term raw foodist who doesn't eat other things as well - but he seemed to be refering to greens and nuts, and that is what Dr. Graham says is crucial for success, so...

Also he has basically fully enlightened me on the Vitamin D issue - it's at the end of the interview, about the last 10 mins OOPS: UPDATE: it's around min: 1:25. I recommend listening to the whole interview - he has a lot of very good info. I'm going back to listen the the last bit ~~

I think it's important to learn what your body needs to be healthy, for some people, lfrv isn't it. This is a lfrv site though : ) And so far it works really well for me. It feels totally right, at this point.
I dunno. I really don't buy into the whole "we're all different" thing. Honestly, I just don't think that's the case... But I do wonder if because of past ssues some people can't tolerate 80/10/10.. I would say these people are in the VERY EXTREMELY small minority, if so, and that most people who "fail" do so because they ether did it wrong or gave up to easily.
I just don't get it though. I mean I respect Jameth, but everytime I've eaten lentils, brown rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, quinoa or any such thing unsalted I wake up the next day with foul breath, I have body odour, I spit up mucus, my nose is clogged, my poop smells, and my stamina isn't as good.

When I eat juts fruit, greens and veggies I jump out of bed, my throat and nose are clear, no stinky discharge, my poop don't smell at all, I feel hydrated, and I smell good.

So how exactly can it possibly be good? I mean if it does this to my body, how can it be good?
what? I don't get that. Yes, I've done several water fasts and juice fasts, but that's irrelevant.

Why would I not detox on fruit but detox when I eat cooked food, in terms of "still detoxing"? Detoxing the cooked food maybe, but I don't get the "still detoxing" bit?
Once you have more experience, you will understand how silly what you are saying is :)
It's not good - he is saying it's FAR preferable to eating meat - he made that super clear. He gives a lot of random, extreme examples and says cooked legumes with salt will assuage a meat craving if your fruitarian. Who craves meat who has found lfrv?? He emphasizes the obvious point that people should go forward in steps, like, vegan first then raw, then lfrv and if at any point in the raw journey you crave animal products, those cravings can be ended with a bowl of lentils or whatever.

Cravings can come. As the body and emotions detox - that's the deal: understanding the mental detox, which includes cravings, is one of those personal points of discernment that each person has to master for themselves. If you weren't vegan before going raw, I suppose it's far worse. He's offering people what seems to me like a no-duh point. But lot's of people need this kind of guidance - so many are transitioning into raw - and they are still learning.
no no no, that's not what I mean. He's sayign I shouldn't eat only fruit ad greens but also supplement with cooked lentils, and starches because so much fruit is not good. That's what he told me in person anyway. So basically he told me to substitute fruits with lentils, brown rice, and cooked starches, to an extent, so that I'm not eeating so much fruit, because so much fruit is dangerous, he says.

I say, why do I feel the way I do with those foods if that is the case, as in my previous post.

And then from that perspective, you can re-read what I wrote.
