I clicked on that and netflix ad came up. So I closed it. What does it say?
"because in order to lose weight you must undereat on total calories"

It makes perfect sense to me, and I believe it also shows that the "just eat more fruit," theory is not a one-size-fits-all remedy...... Touche', baby. Thus saith Maltron.
Yes..I tell my mom that when she is starving that is good thing cause she is losing weight. She eats cooked food and starves when she diets. I think that is how most people lose weight, starvation.
So true.
god so many people are so fat, starving is something they could all use
wow that was a compassionate comment

Harsh. So harsh. I'm offended and I'm not even fat.

not a one size fits all, right. but if one belief is that eating fruit to the high caloric end is a way to lose weight (I understand by meeting the cells needs for proper quantities of nutrients) and those that believe it are "following" 811, but the founder of the nutritional plan himself says the opposite, then, uh....huh? then those people are not really alligned with Dr G, right? Not that they need to be by any means, I do not keep idols myself. but the information is contradictory. and maybe it just comes down to "not one-size-fits-all" and maybe following advice to eat abundant calories in fruit is not beneficial to some.
I thionk Suvine meant that figuratively and not literally, but you make a good point.
I've always been confused by this. So many people say they eat all the fruit they want on 811 and lose weight. I try to manage my calories and even cut them and don't lose any. Then I'm told I'm "restriciting" so my body is trying to hold onto what it can...

Where is the line between over-restricting and slowing your metabolism/losing muscle, and limiting your calroies in order to lose weight? I also am active so I know everyone says you need to be sure to fuel your activities....

How can you have it both ways?
I don't think it has been truly determined that cutting calories is damaging, in a case like yours. It seems to me, if you have fat to lose, you might as well cut calories, even if you are active. I would assume you make up the difference by feeding off your metabolizing blubber. I have heard plenty of stories like yours. I say go ahead and cut the calories, but don't get ridiculous about it. Keep it manageable. Take it slow, if need be. I bet you will even FEEL better. And when you achieve your desired weight, pick up the slack and eat a little more... But I do also think people have that "base calorie requirement." And that number is arbitrary. Only YOU can find it. Do not let someone else tell you how many calories you should eat! That is the way it looks to me. I think this idea that cutting calories a bit is always "dangerous," like you go into some kind of "toxemia" or something, is untrue, at least in a case like yours where you need to drop some pounds... Again, if you have weight to lose, I believe it is okay to cut calories for a while. It will probably be a relief to the system. And no I do not recommend doing that perpetually. I think there is a number that is about right for you, once you achieve your goal, and you will find it, if you pay attention to your body and serve it well. And after the weight is lost, when you eat that special number of calories, averaged out over a month or so of days, will keep you at your proper and desired weight....
its so hard to find the correct number though. my body doesn't give me cues and every time I look up ways to properly calculte it they are all so subjective and different. It's really frustrating.
