30 Bananas a Day!

Hi fruity people,
I'm searching for some reassurance, having been on this lifestyle for almost 2 years generally raw till 4) with some almost raw days) I am slowly gaining weight despite exercising 3-5 times per week. The exact amount unsure as I do not weight myself. I have been working out with a personal trainer, doing some high intensity weight training, which is improving my strength and muscle tone, but body fat is increasing. My workout are varied from astanga yoga, swimming, cycling and Pilates. I also have a physically demanding job, on my feet for 12hr plus 2 days a week as a nurse.
My personal trainer is concerned that a high carb diet is stopping me from burning fat, he is obviously not vegan and doesn't really understand my diet. He saying, if I ate lean protein I would be satisfied, and therefore eat less generally and burn the fat off. I am reluctant to change my trainer as apart from this difference in opinion I am making good progress in my training . I have no desire to change gyms, either as it's near to my home, and has amazing facilities. My trainer is impressed with my strength, and ability to build muscle. My arms and legs have great muscle tone, but my stomach remains flabby. I apologise for winging and sounding self obsessed

As a vegan in the UK, I'm starting to feel isolated. I know that eating chicken will not make me slimmer, and the thought of eating it makes me feel physically sick, but part of me is starting to doubt that the high carb way. I am 42, only 14lbs heavier than I'd like to be. My general health is very good since eating this way, clear skin, good energy, good immunity.
My focus has generally been on my health, and I expected my weight to decrease, which it's not and is effecting my confidence. I have been considering restricting my calorie intake and using vegan protein powders which I know goes against everything this lifestyle stands for.
I would love some support and reassurance from you wise people

The trainer is not educated and you would do good to do more reading yourself so you are not thrown off by one person's opinion, and if you need community support, (and we all do), and cannot find a meet up where you are then hang out with vegans on the net more! :)  A Freelee & Durianrider video a day keeps the doubts away! :D

Too much protein is extremely hard on your kidneys and liver, never take protein powder vegan or not.  Plus they have some other ingredients like natural flavor and many have heavy metals in them, see here:



As for weight gain, we need more info...
