30 Bananas a Day!

this just in from chrissy:

Stop the Bolivian army from using dogs as live practice targets

i've come across some pretty bizarre stuff and this is one which really makes one question the credibility of some who pose as human beings on this planet.

i didn't know bolivia even had an army - now i'm sure they don't ... it's just a group of animal abusers.

the petition is still open, but here's what's interesting.

peta says they've scored a victory in bolivia:
Bolivia Bans Military Abuse of Animals (Historic Victory!)

if you watch the gruesome video, you'll see that it is apparently the us army that taught the bolivians to train their commandos to be animal abusers. so the problem is still there, perhaps no longer in bolivia, but definitely on the north american continent.

so here's what you can do about that:
Ask Congress to End the Military's War on Animals

animal abuse is a certain pathway to human abuse - that's how to make a soldier in some people's minds.

i cant watch, imagining is enough. but holy shit - human race is really possessed by evil - poor people, so sick these souls. Im moving to Ecuador in near future, sorta nervous about what i will witness on the animal front. signing petition for me and boyfriend, mother, sister. 4 sigs!
I'm right there w/u can't watch it...ditto ditto.
PS- great idea about signing for multiple people (me, bro, mom, grandma)
Terrible. Signed and shared.
I thought the idea would be that the dogs we're moving as in running. Making them harder to shoot. But this makes no sense. What's the point?

Thanks for this and those that believe all is good. Are well you know.

Take Care,
you have to wonder about the psychological profile of some these people in the us army.

The U.S. Army is once again applying for a permit to cut apart and kill animals in cruel and crude trauma training exercises in the district of Oberpfalz (Bavaria, Germany), even though the Army's first application was withdrawn because of overwhelming public opposition to the plan. Its second application was also recently denied because officials said that the animal laboratories would violate Germany's animal protection law, since effective non-animal methods are available for use in the training instead.

keep up the pressure on these animal abusers.

in friendship,
This isn't helping anyone with their target practice, but I guess that it is training soldiers to be more heartless and have no problem with taking a life... Just another sick and twisted example of innocent animals having to be killed so humans can kill each other.
They can shoot each other all they like for all I care. Just leave out the innocent animals and people of course

your words echo ingrid newkirk's when she asked yassar arafat to leave the animals out of it. they were using donkeys with bombs hidden in the load to attack the enemy. those who abuse and oppress the innocent will know neither peace nor victory.

in friendship,
This is beyond sickening. I signed the petition. What a said statement that we would even have to ask people not to do this in the first place.
on the germany issue just above peta has informed us that oberpfalz has rejected the application by the us army once again.

but there is still work to do in usa.

PETA's Action Center Alert

Thanks in part to your e-mails, officials in Oberpfalz, Germany, have
again rejected an application by the U.S. Army to stab, mutilate, and
kill animals in cruel and archaic trauma training exercises!

Previously, an Army contractor withdrew its application for trauma
training on animals after facing intense public opposition, and last
month, an application from another Army trauma training contractor was
denied by officials in the German state of Thüringen. For those
keeping score, it's animals 4, Army 0.

PETA Germany has protested the Army's plans, and we have written to German
officials to share information about the many sophisticated and humane
alternatives to using animals that are available. The German
government has repeatedly determined that the U.S. Army's proposal
would violate federal animal welfare laws, which require the use of
alternatives to animals when they exist. We hope that this latest
ruling will mark the end of the Army's attempt to conduct these
unethical and illegal exercises in Germany.

We need your help once again to keep up this amazing momentum for
animals. If you are a U.S. citizen, please click here to contact your
congressional representative today and urge him or her to support H.R.
4269, the BEST Practices Act, which would replace the horrific use of
animals in military training with modern alternatives, such as
high-tech human patient simulators.

Also, please consider making a generous donation through the "Stop
Animal Testing" Challenge today, and have your gift DOUBLED to help
end the suffering of animals in laboratories.

Thank you for everything that you do for animals!

and it's not just dogs.

the us army mutilates goats too.

peta email copied below.

in friendship,

Today, PETA blew the lid off highly secretive U.S. military training exercises in which more than 10,000 live animals are violently mutilated each year.

As a result of a brave whistleblower, PETA has obtained sickening undercover video footage of a crude training course for members of the U.S. Coast Guard. Click here to watch the video now.

In the shocking leaked video, course instructors repeatedly break and cut off the limbs of live goats with tree trimmers, stab the animals with scalpels, cut holes in them and pull out their organs.

Some of the goats moaned and kicked their legs during the mutilations. Later in the day, according to the whistleblower, the goats were shot in the face with pistols and were hacked apart with an ax while still alive.

Thanks for all that you are doing to help animals!
