30 Bananas a Day!

Hey guys do any of you take rest days from exercise??? I workout intensely for 2-3 hours a  day 5-6 days a week and I know that If I dont have a rest day my performance isn't as good. Do you take rest days? Thanks in advance,

I love to exercise and I will have "rest days" from time to time, but I never plan them in advance.  I simply take them whenever I feel that I need one.

Alyssa, I'm fairly new to this as well but am finding that fruit gives me so much energy that even on rest days, I try to just get outside and walk for 30 minutes to an hour or do a lot of errands on foot so I'm not in my room all day long.  If we think about how humans were living before all this technology, we probably had daily duties such as foraging, cleaning, etc. just to survive.  I don't believe that we ever sat down all day long because we would be too bored.  That being said, if you are fasting or sick, I would never force yourself out of bed if you feel horrible.  I definitely feel the happiest if i'm breaking a sweat each day, but some days are more intense than others.  Maybe vary your intensity some days so that you won't need as much recovery time.  :)

You dont train intensely but you think you do.  What your doing at your BMI is wasting away your bone density and setting yourself up to look like a balding, freaking out, bag of broomsticks.

I was out riding with Lance today and pro teams all week and have only seen a few seconds here and there of real intensity. Lots of easy/tempo riding though.

 

I have rest days/weeks and months where I make sure that I eat extra and move less. Lets me be who I need to be when I need it most.

 

Todays ride in the hills with Lance. Need to improve photo skills. ;)

Hey Harley, I have actually put on some weight. I am starting to gain weight slowly. Your right I probably should cut back on the exercise. I just love running so much. How much exercise do you think is a good amount for me? Thx for the reply.

Put up a pic of yourself in shorts and singlet. You can chop your head off if you want. How fast can you run a 10km in?
Unfortunately I don't have a camera that uploads to my computer, but I can run a 10km in about 45-50 minutes.

Use training programmes as guidlines. Listen to your body as the absolute. MODIFY your workout according to how you feel and UNDERSTAND that how we feel now aint always how we will feel in 2 minutes or 2 hours..
