I have more when i'm fruity, natural bug repellants are supposed to be diets hi in very spicy foods, garlic, and onions to drive away the bugs. When i'm fruity i get attacked more than anyone else around me it's terrible
Exactly what Jes said. I've been getting eaten alive since I went 811. If anyone knows of a natural bug repellant please share! :)
I also get eaten alive now that I have such sweet blood. Just as last summer was ending I did some research and found that vitamin B1 is supposed to help ward off mosquitoes. I didn't try it then but if they come after me this summer I will!
Oops, that's bad news then ! I still have to do my first summer on this diet, but I've always been gourmet food for mosquitoes and bugs... In Summer 2011 I got more than 100 bites in one night, and again more than 100 a couple nights later. And I'm living in a "cold" climate :-\ Should I fear for my life from now on ??? Should I start making stock of repellents ? (BTW, what are the best natural repellents ? That Summer I used basil leafs spread on my bed, it seemed to work)
use some organic cold pressed coconut oil on your skin - bugs hate it :)it's good for the skin and smells delicious
also lavender oil keeps mosquitoes away - just 1 or 2 drops - you can actually mix it into coconut oil or if mixed with plain water, you'll have a lavender anti-mosquitoes spray
I'll try to remember in 5-6 months...
Having been raw for 3 years now, I have found that I RARELY get mosquito bites. The one caveat to this is that if I move to another place I start getting bitten again. I think it takes a couple of months for the body to create its own "mosquito repellant" and it only works against the mosquitoes of a specific ecological area.
I also agree with Cassy that coconut oil and some essential oils like lavender, patchouli, peppermint and eucalyptus keep mosquitoes away.
