After following 90/5/5 for two years I decided I'd switch it up a little and see how my body would feel on a high fat raw diet. During one week what my diet consisted of was:
Negative effects were fatigue, being able to stomach one meal a day, brain fog, skin breakout, disguisted with food (the thought of food made me want to vomit) & overall I was in a bad mood.
The positive effects would be my hair became smoother & I was losing a lot of weight (NOT water, which in my case is bad since I'm very skinny to begin with).
My advice? Never try a high fat raw diet, it will leave you feeling like CRAP.
P.S: I'm new to the blog & am very excited to meet everyone. :)
Great experiment! It's always nice to see confirmation that the high carb low fat way is the thing to do. I could see why you had trouble eating because I think a lot of high fat raw folks add lots of flavoring and spices (cacao, salt, etc) to their food to make it go down easier.
Hey there, Sarah Wood.
I would like to point out that what this experiment thought me was not keeping an extreme. As I posted above I ate 90/5/5, but found that I didn't feel my best. When I switched to about 70/15/15 I lost weight and feel better than ever. Adding more fats like avocados and nuts on top of large quantities of high carb fruits DID help weight loss and overall health, but I guess everyone's different.
DEFINATELY do not eat like I did in this experiment for such quantities of fat do make you feel like complete CRAP, but balance is always the key.
I prefer eating fats like avocados and nuts over rice, potatoes and corn ERRDAY'.
Keep it raw and lean,
