I'm sick of trying to educate my parents on the benefits if this lifestyle when they have no desire to open their minds. How am I suppose to sustain this lifestyle with them constantly lecturing me and insulting my choices

Hi Lauren! I have the same problem with my parents. They just don't understand it. I recommend you to show them the movie "Forks over Knives". They joking about this lifestyle all the time. I don't try to educate them because it has no sense. They don't listen me. We determined that we tolerant own lirestyle which we chose. I hope that your's parents accept it.

Lots of love,

Anna

Thanks I will definitely show them. It's not like I'm asking them to become a vegan or even understand why I'm a vegan I just wish that they would tolerate it. Ah the joys of living at home
Thanks for the advice xx
Lauren

Yeh, same here. Even though my family have witnessed my healing through this lifestyle they still insist on offering me cheesey-starch filled-meatonators for breakfast dinner and tea. It used to get me down no end but I've learned to ignore and carry on.

Its a shame because you want others to look at this lifestyle for the benefits it will bring them but the cultured mind is a difficult thing to turn. Carry on down your path and you never know, once they see you flourishing, they just might jump on board or at least become more accommodating. You know its right, continue in your knowledge and let others see the truth through you.

hold your ground they will eventaully get tired of spewing there nonsense and let you be you. Just gotta wear em out. thats whats worked for me now people are accepting of my strangeness.

The best thing to do if they don't want to listen is to give zero f*cks and continue doing what you're doing.  Lead by example!  Once they see what this lifestyle is doing for you, they may reconsider and stop insulting you.  I know it can be difficult when your own family do not support what you are doing.  But, keep it up and show them how passionate you are about this lifestyle and maybe they will see how important it is for you and stop insulting your choices.

Don't try to lecture or educate anyone, its a huge waste of time.

Just try to attain optimal health, eat awesome, feel good, be positive, get fit, swim, bike, run...do some local little races.

When you improve your health, it speaks for itself, and speaks much louder THAN ANY WORDS :)

Hi Lauren!!  I grew up in a typical meat and dairy eating household. My parents are the same way. Although my mother and father support me by going to the store and getting the food i need, they still think I am absolutely nuts. My parents biggest concern for me is "WHERE IS SHE GONNA GET HER PROTEIN?!" Although my parents are open minded they cant seem to accept the fact that this lifestyle is the best option.

My biggest piece of advice and what i have learned myself is that if people are not willing to try and understand our lifestyle, then just let them think what they want. When my family tries to tell me about "why do i need to eat so much" "a 10+ banana breakfast isnt healthy" i just turn to them and say " you know what? you are absolutely right." and then i continue to do what makes me happy. if you need anything let me know! good luck!

Ignore them. My father, who suffers from horrible bodily pain, has had multiple heart attacks, is an alcoholic and smokes like a chimney looked me straight in the face while gorging on cottage cheese and red meat and said that i'm going to 'die early' and that i'm 'missing out on life'.

I just grabbed my watermelon and walked away. What a disgusting creature.
